Domaine Chanson 21151

Viré-Clessé 2018

Viré-Clessé, Burgundy

April 27, 2020
Chanson's regional wine, Viré Clessé is one of the best white wines of the region, combining suppleness and minerality. The appellation lies in the heart of the Mâcon appellation in the south of Burgundy. It's produced from a combination of Chardonnay and Chardonnay Muscaté grapes.

Wine Enthusiast -July 10, 2020 "A gentle note of freshness, made up of lemon and Mirabelle, characterizes the nose on this wine. Hints of cold butter and chalk add nuance. The palate is rounded, ripe…

Marina Cvetic Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2017

Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

April 15, 2020
The Trebbiano Riserva Marina Cvetic represents the ultimate expression for the estate of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo.  Like Montepulciano, Trebbiano was once thought to be a workhorse grape without the potential to produce great wine. The interpretation of this wine is original and has a character. Marina Cvetic wines have full body and are elegant and are a “lone voice” for the most demanding and technical experts.

James Suckling -July 24, 2020 "What a nose of vanilla and butterscotch, in unison with mangoes, dried apricots and jack fruit. Full-bodied and decadent for a white, but nicely tuned by the vibrant acidity."

Wine Advocate -April 15, 2020 "With fruit culled from the gorgeous, hilly landscape of San Martino sulla Marrucina, the Marina Cvetić 2017 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Riserva ultimately shows more intensity on the bouquet than it does…

Marina Cvetic ISKRA 2016

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG

April 10, 2020
ISKRA is the Serbian word for “spark,” and Gianni Masciarelli dedicated this wine to his wife, Marina Cvetic, who is from Serbia. It is among the Marina Cvetic line of wines, which Gianni created for his wife. Made from a single-vineyard cru of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, ISKRA is a wine of extraordinary distinction and depth.

Vinous -April 07, 2021 "The 2016 is a darker and inward expression of the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva Iskra. A wave of violet florals and crushed stone minerals set the stage, evolving further to show…

Decanter -October 02, 2020 "Complex and intriguing nose of black plums and dark cherries seasoned by dried herbs and sweet clove spice. Powerful tannins with a chalky texture and a juicy fruit concentration balanced…

Wine Advocate -April 10, 2020 “The Marina Cvetić 2016 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane Riserva Iskra hits it out of the ballpark with an extra crisp zing and an energetic quality of fruit. I always think…

Finca Decero 20396

Amano 2016

Agrelo, Mendoza, Argentina

April 03, 2020
Decero Amano takes its name from the “Amano” or “by hand” approach. As the pinnacle of the winery's achievements each vintage, Decero Amano is a blend of the most distinctive parcels from the Remolinos Vineyard. The wine is a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Tannat: violet aromas emanate from the Malbec, red fruit flavors and structure of the Cabernet gives excellent length, while the jasmine perfumed Petit Verdot brings firm tannins as does the Tannat, which adds even more textural complexity.

Wine Advocate -April 01, 2021 "I find the 2016 Amano Remolinos Vineyard to be very ripe, earthy and rustic [...]It finishes dry. It's 63% Malbec, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Tannat."

Goldberg Riesling 2019

Mosel

April 03, 2020
This Grand Cru site is marked by a distinctive red slate that brings an almost smoky minerality. Notes of white pepper, and dried herbs accompany ripe stone fruit in this uniquely complex bottling.

Wine Advocate -April 03, 2020 "The 2016 Goldberg Riesling displays an intense and perfectly ripe stone fruit bouquet along with very fine (red) slate aromas. Crystalline, fresh and pretty dry but nevertheless lush and aromatic…

Champagne Bollinger 18657

La Grande Année Rosé 2012

Champagne, France

February 12, 2020
Lily Bollinger agreed to a Bollinger rosé under one condition, it had to be extraordinary, and that is how La Grande Année Rosé was born. A blend like no other, the wine is as an extension to the House's prestige cuvée, La Grande Année, as is the subtle marriage between this great vintage Champagne and the addition of red wine from a unique plot, the legendary Côte aux Enfants.

Wine Enthusiast -October 20, 2020 "As a rich dense Champagne that manages to bring in so many complex flavors, this is impressive. It has tense acidity, along with fresh red fruits that are just beginning to deepen and concentrate.…

La Grande Année 2012

Champagne, France

February 12, 2020
La Grande Année: The Great Year. This Champagne is the embodiment of everything that makes Bollinger the producer that stands apart in Champagne. La Grande Année, or LGA, preserves the traditions of the past and symbolizes the word "hand-crafted" so strongly that an overused word suddenly becomes the only appropriate definition.

Wine Enthusiast -October 20, 2020 "Still young for a wine of this caliber, this rich Champagne has an immense future ahead of it. The freshness of the wine will mature into the rich toastiness that…

Wine & Spirits -October 13, 2020 "There’s an immediacy to its bubbles, and a scent that is immediately awesome—lemon blossom, lemon verbena and something exotic, like Buddha’s hand. The flavors are classical, expanding outward as the…

Petrolo 18596

Torrione 2017

Toscana IGT

February 11, 2020
Torrione marks the beginning of the Petrolo’s quality revolution. It is considered to be the true identity of Petrolo, made with a blend of grapes from all of the estate’s vineyards.

Wine & Spirits -September 18, 2020 Full Review to be Published in December, 2020

Wine Advocate (92+) -February 11, 2020 "This vintage is an IGT Toscana wine instead of a Valdarno di Sopra appellation expression. The 2017 Torrione is mostly Sangiovese with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blended within. This…

Vinous -February 11, 2020 "The 2017 Torrione is an attractive mid-tier wine in this range. Smoke, leather, grilled herbs, menthol and licorice wrap around a core of dark fruit. Potent and dense, with imposing…

Le Macchiole 18587

Messorio 2016

Toscana IGT

February 11, 2020
Messorio, a Merlot monovarietal, is the winery’s crown jewel. Its initial vintage was 1994, and since then it has received extraordinary acclaim, including a 100-point score from the Wine Spectator for the 2004 vintage. The name Messorio refers to the ancient Tuscan practice of wheat harvesting, the most important time of the year in the Bolgheri countryside - once it referred to wheat; these days, it is all about grape harvesting.

Jeb Dunnuck -February 03, 2023 "The 2016 Messorio is rich, expressive, and beautifully tailored. Ripe with lush fruit of boysenberry, plum, and candied violets, and a bit of vanilla bean spice, it is very pleasant…

Wine & Spirits Magazine -August 20, 2021 "This pure merlot from the Bolgheri coast is smooth and velvety. This is the second year in which proprietor Cinzia Merlia has reduced the toast levels in the new French…

Wine Advocate -February 11, 2020 "This expression of Merlot is explosive and profound. The 2016 Messorio presents an absolute textbook rendition of Merlot that can be read and appreciated in terms of the layering and…

Antonio Galloni (96+) -February 11, 2020 "The 2016 Messorio is the most reticent of Le Macchiole's 2016s. Dense and closed in on itself. Stylistically, Messorio is the wine in this range that lies closest to the…

James Suckling -February 11, 2020 "Shows very ripe aromas on the nose with lightly burnt oranges, black olives and fresh dark berries and hints of walnuts, yet the palate is driven and very bright with…

Le Macchiole 18577

Scrio 2016

Bolgheri DOC

February 11, 2020
Scrio was first produced in 1994. Le Macchiole founder Eugenio Campolmi created it because he wanted to produce a wine that would best express his vision of Syrah, his favorite grape variety. Scrio has an original personality and stands apart from Syrah grown in France or anywhere else - it is an extraordinarily compelling meld of deep and velvety Mediterranean fruit with cool climate aromatics and detail. Given the extremely limited production, Scrio is decidedly a hidden gem.

Wine & Spirits Magazine -August 20, 2021 "With scents of fresh violets and crushed black peppercorns, this pure syrah is reminiscent of a great Cornas. Its juicy plum and blackberry flavors take on notes of licorice and…

Wine Enthusiast -August 20, 2021 "Cedar, cassis, camphor and French oak aromas lead the nose on this 100% Syrah. The full-bodied palate features ripe blackberry, raspberry jam, dark exotic spice, dried mint and espresso alongside…

James Suckling -February 11, 2020 "This is another magical edition of Scrio; the crazy peppermint, rosemary, cypress and oregano perfumes should be enough to prove that. But then comes gravitas, in the form of pure…

Wine Advocate (96+) -February 11, 2020 "The 2016 Scrio is a fruitier Syrah than the 2015, which was more about the pepper and the savory spice. The 2015 was broader, while this wine is more linear…

Vinous -February 11, 2020 "The 2016 Scrio (Syrah) is another stellar wine from Le Macchiole. Today, it is the extraordinary purity of the fruit that makes the deepest impression. More typically varietal Syrah notes…

Paleo Rosso 2016

Toscana IGT

February 11, 2020
Paleo Rosso has been called Italy's landmark expression of Cabernet Franc. It is named for a type of local wild grass, which once covered the land where its vines are now planted. Originally a blend of several different varieties, the wine has been made from 100% Cabernet Franc since 2001, and was the first mono varietal Cabernet Franc to be produced in Bolgheri. The grapes come from several vineyards on the estate, including Vignone, Madonnina, Puntone and Casa Nuova. Each vineyard is picked separately, and fruit from the same vineyard is often picked more than once at different stages of maturity, resulting in about 20 different pickings.

Jeb Dunnuck -February 03, 2023 "Pouring a jewel-like deep ruby hue, the 2016 Paleo is rich with kirsch, mineral earth, graphite, and game. It is full-bodied and has a velveteen texture, with ripe fruit through…

Wine & Spirits Magazine -August 20, 2021 "A benchmark cabernet franc from Bolgheri since it was first bottled as a single-variety wine in the 2001 vintage, Paleo knocked it out of the park in 2016. Moderate temperatures,…

Decanter -April 07, 2020 "The pure red fruit hidden away in the depths of the wine hints at the elegant complexity of which Cabernet Franc (100%) is capable in Bolgheri. Soft and round with…

Wine Enthusiast -February 11, 2020 "Made entirely with Cabernet Franc, this radiant red opens with intense aromas of black currant, Mediterranean scrub, blue flower and camphor aromas. On the supremely elegant palate, supple tannins and…

James Suckling -February 11, 2020 "Really beautiful black fruit with freshly roasted coffee-bean aromas that follow through to a full body with silky and lightly chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Decadent."

Wine Advocate -February 11, 2020 "Here's another pure varietal expression, this time Cabernet Franc, and it is one for the ages. The 2015 edition of the Paleo was hot with nutty notes, whereas the 2016…

Vinous -February 11, 2020 "The 2016 Paleo Rosso is a total stunner. Explosive and intensely floral, with tremendous aromatic intensity, the 2016 exudes class from the very first taste. Grilled herbs, crushed rose, peach,…

Champagne Bollinger 18255

Vieilles Vignes Françaises 2010

Champagne, France

January 16, 2020
Vieilles Vignes Françaises is one of Champagne’s most mythical cuvees, produced from miraculously preserved and ungrafted 100% Pinot Noir vines. Phylloxera destroyed the vines of Champagne in the early 20th century, but amazingly enough two of Bollinger’s classified Grands crus plots, Chaudes Terres and Clos St. Jacques, survived and are still grown the traditional way. Madame Lily Bollinger first had this wine produced in 1969 as an anniversary cuvee to commemorate her 70th birthday. Following the wine’s launch in 1974, Vieilles Vignes Françaises promptly became a collectible and a symbol of a bygone era. Over the decades, its uniqueness and scarcity have made it one of the most sought-after and expensive Champagnes.

Vinous -April 27, 2020 "The 2010 Vieilles Vignes Françaises dazzles from the very first impression with striking aromatic presence and utterly captivating balance. Mirabelle, sweet red cherry, jasmine and passion fruit are some of…

Olivet Lane Chardonnay 2017

Russian River Valley, California

January 10, 2020
Pellegrini’s Olivet Lane Vineyard was planted in 1975 to Wente selection on AXR rootstock.
