Marqués de Riscal Baron de Chirel Rioja 2020
Rioja
May 19, 2025 - Born in 1986 from the Marqués de Riscal’s close relationship to some of the top winemakers in Bordeaux, the Barón de Chirel in many ways kicked off a new era of Rioja. Chosen from very old (80-110 years), low-yielding parcels of high-altitude Tempranillo and Cabernet vines around Elciego, these grapes undergo a meticulous process of selection before a special vinification process. The care that goes into this wine has cemented its prestige among discerning customers.
James Suckling -September 12, 2024 "Iodine, mussels and some dark chocolate with blackberries and dark plums. Pretty opulent and a little more generous than the 2021 and 2019. More muscular, too, with fine-grained tannins and…

Châteauneuf-du-Pape
May 13, 2025 - Guigal produces an intensely concentrated, inviting and complex Châteauneuf-du-Pape that is unique to the region today. Their passion for Châteauneuf, the leading appellation of the Southern Rhône, runs as deeply as that for their home sites in the North. The combination of working with top fruit that has perfect ripeness, along with their extraordinary patience in the cellar, results in rich and full, yet savory, spicy, seamless and balanced wines. This one can be enjoyed immediately but is capable of aging for the long haul.
Jeb Dunnuck -March 28, 2024 "A ripe, perfumed, medium to full-bodied effort that stays firmly planted in the more elegant style of the vintage. Ripe red and black fruits (raspberries, strawberries), garrigue, and peppery notes…

Dog Point Vineyard Chardonnay 2021
Marlborough
May 07, 2025 - Dog Point Chardonnay is one of New Zealand’s most expressive and distinctive white wines. Sourced from low-yielding, hand-tended vines in the Wairau Valley and crafted with minimal intervention, it reflects the site’s character with clarity and intensity. A reductive, flinty edge meets layered fruit and leesy complexity, creating a taut, mineral-driven wine with serious structure and precision. As with all Dog Point wines, it’s a national benchmark—an unfiltered, uncompromising Chardonnay with Burgundian depth and unmistakable Marlborough identity.
Wine Advocate -December 20, 2024 "The 2021 Chardonnay leads with preserved lemon on the nose along with freshly picked curry leaf, white peach and spring blossoms. In the mouth, the wine is elegant and layered,…
Wine Enthusiast -January 25, 2024 "Subtle struck match and grilled nut aromas perch just above the lemon and toast aromas without overpowering them; a salty, seashell vibe is present, too. There's vibrant, citrusy acidity on…

Dog Point Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Marlborough
May 05, 2025 - Dog Point’s Sauvignon Blanc takes a category of wine and completely transcends it, with an intensity, depth and energy that so obviously sets it apart from the first encounter. When they decided to make a pure stainless steel Sauvignon Blanc, Dog Point pushed to the ultimate every process to produce top quality, distinctive wine. They hand-pick fruit at low yields, green harvest at times, and ferment partially with indigenous yeasts. This wine helped make Dog Point a key advocate of premium wine production in New Zealand, and for New Zealand across the world.
Wine Advocate -December 20, 2024 "The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc leads with a distinct nose of freshly picked curry leaf, crushed sea shells, lemon zest, asphalt, mustard seed, dried coriander/coriander seed and white flesh orchard fruit.…
James Suckling -January 01, 2025 "This is excellent, as always, showing flint, sliced lemons and fresh green melon. Some Thai basil too. Medium body, crisp acidity and lots of fruit at the end but with…

Le Macchiole Paleo Rosso 2021
Toscana IGT
March 26, 2025 - Paleo Rosso has been called Italy's landmark expression of Cabernet Franc. It is named for a type of local wild grass, which once covered the land where its vines are now planted. Originally a blend of several different varieties, the wine has been made from 100% Cabernet Franc since 2001, and was the first mono varietal Cabernet Franc to be produced in Bolgheri. The grapes come from several vineyards on the estate, including Vignone, Madonnina, Puntone and Casa Nuova. Each vineyard is picked separately, and fruit from the same vineyard is often picked more than once at different stages of maturity, resulting in about 20 different pickings.
James Suckling -July 22, 2024 "Wow. This is very polished and sophisticated with currant, spice, fresh-herb and cedar character that goes on for minutes on the finish. The tannins are so refined yet muscular, with…

Le Macchiole Messorio 2021
Toscana IGT
March 26, 2025 - Messorio, a Merlot monovarietal, is the winery’s crown jewel. Its initial vintage was 1994, and since then it has received extraordinary acclaim, including a 100-point score from the Wine Spectator for the 2004 vintage. The name Messorio refers to the ancient Tuscan practice of wheat harvesting, the most important time of the year in the Bolgheri countryside - once it referred to wheat; these days, it is all about grape harvesting.
Wine Spectator -March 14, 2024 "Plum, pomegranate and blackberry fruit is framed by toasty oak and vanilla notes in this fresh, brilliant red. Iron and tobacco accents add detail as this cruises to the long,…

James Suckling -March 29, 2024 "A well-built, velvety and balanced red with aromas of dark cherries, grilled meat, dried herbs and some crushed stones. It's medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Chalky texture with pulpy cherry…
