Pinot Noir Reserve 2018

Chehalem Mountains, Willamette Valley

August 16, 2022
Ponzi Vineyards Pinot Noir Reserve is the epitome of restrained power. It hails from estate grown fruit on Laurelwood soils in the Chehalem Mountains, including from some of Oregon’s oldest vines. This remarkably complex wine is handcrafted with tremendous attention to detail.

James Suckling -December 06, 2023 "Aromas of flowers, stems and ripe and dried strawberries. Lavender, too. Medium to full body. Firm and tight structure with black fruit and a flavorful finish. So long and seamless.…

Late Bottled Vintage Single Vineyard Port 2016

Douro Valley, Portugal

August 15, 2022
This wine is a remarkable example of the Noval style. Treated exactly like a Vintage Port with only noble grape varieties that sourced exclusively from estate vineyards, trodden by foot and unfiltered. This expression differs in its extended aging, seeing five years in casks instead of the typical two years for Vintage Ports. Definitely an LBV with a difference, this wine has fine structured tannins, great freshness and purity of fruit. It is delicious to drink today, but will age beautifully in its bottle.

Jeb Dunnuck -February 10, 2023 "A more heady, intense effort, the 2016 Late Bottled Vintage Port offers up a deep ruby/purple hue to go with classic Port notes of candied plums, cigar box, incense, orange…

James Suckling -November 02, 2022 "Aromas of dried fruits and lots of blackberries. Some wet earth with, of course, alcohol. It’s full-bodied, medium sweet with slightly chewy tannins. Shows tension and focus. Really solid and…

Wine Advocate -August 15, 2022 "The 2016 Unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage Port is a field blend from typical grapes like Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão and Sousão, aged for five years in…

Russian River Selection Chardonnay 2020

Russian River Valley, California

August 12, 2022
The Russian River Selection bottlings are quintessential Russian River Valley wines blended from some of the winery’s top vineyard sources. They are beautiful expressions of their varietal type and of the appellation’s unique terroir, each blend capturing the richness, purity and elegance that are Gary Farrell Winery’s trademarks. This layered and complex Chardonnay brings together fruit from several of our favorite Russian River Valley vineyard sites.

Wine Enthusiast -January 19, 2023 "This buttery but not extreme wine is scented with popcorn and butterscotch followed by good acidity, cream and golden apple flavors, and a touch of lemon. It is nicely balanced,…

Laurelwood Chardonnay

Laurelwood District, Willamette Valley, Oregon

August 04, 2022
Taking on the mantle of pioneer spirit and innovation from their parents, sisters Maria and Luisa launched a decade-long pursuit, alongside neighboring growers, which has resulted in the recognition of Oregon’s first soil-based AVA, the Laurelwood District. Situated along the Northern ridge of the Willamette Valley, a long contiguous stretch of ancient fractured basalts are layered over with a fine, windblown sediment called loess. During their tenure on this unique land, the Ponzis have observed the unique characteristics as their vines penetrated the earth and evolved.

James Suckling -October 04, 2022 "A crunchy and bright chardonnay with sliced lemon and honeysuckle, crushed stone and jasmine. Some lime and green mango too. Lovely acidity and hints of tannins give tension and energy…

Colheita 2009

Douro Valley

August 02, 2022
Colheita is a Vintage Tawny Port. Whereas Tawnies with an indication of age show the House style, Vintage Tawnies show the personality of the vintage year. Colheita spends its entire life in barrel until the moment of bottling. On the nose they are fresh, powerful and fruit-forward with balanced acidity. On the palate they have a nutty, oxidized character with a seductively smooth finish.

Jeb Dunnuck -February 10, 2023 "The 2009 Colheita Tawny Port showed well, with classic complexity and nuance in its caramelized darker red fruits, cigar, tobacco, sandalwood, and chocolaty, caramel-driven bouquet. Based largely on Touriga Nacional…

Wine Spectator -February 03, 2023 "A nice, lush tawny in hue, with black cherry paste and plum pâte de fruit notes laced with singed anise, sandalwood and hazelnut hints. Reveals ample underlying zip for balance,…

James Suckling -November 02, 2022 "The aromas of cherry, toffee, caramel, and candied orange are so welcoming. The palate is full and medium-sweet with a lovely berry, nut and light chocolate aftertaste." J.S 8/22

Wine Advocate -August 15, 2022 “The 2009 Colheita Tawny Port is a typical field blend of grapes like Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Sousão and Tinta Roriz, bottled June 2022 with 117 grams of…

Champagne Ayala 102549

No° 14 Rosé

Champagne, France

July 13, 2022
N° 14 is the third opus from the "COLLECTION AYALA," a set of cuvees produced in limited quantities, unveiled only as they approach their peak level of drinkability. This ephemeral cuvée is 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir — including Grand Cru Aÿ red wine.

Decanter -February 16, 2023 "An elegant and subtle bouquet of strawberry, lemon, mango and spring flowers. The palate is perfectly balanced, very pure and fresh, with a racy acidity that brings purity and tension…

Jeb Dunnuck -November 08, 2022 "A very different expression, the 2014 Champagne No 14 Brut Rosé is a pale peach hue, with a subtle and attractive perfume of lilac, tangerine, and cantaloupe. It has more…

Wine Enthusiast -October 18, 2022 "This is the third in an open-ended series of limited-production Champagnes. This new iteration is now beginning its rich maturity, with five Grand Cru villages at its heart. It is…

James Suckling -July 13, 2022 "Plenty of strawberry character with iron, peaches and hints of chalk. Full-bodied with medium, round tannins and a spicy, cotton-candy and orange-peel aftertaste." J.S 6/22

Marina Cvetic Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Riserva 2020

Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

July 12, 2022
The Trebbiano Riserva Marina Cvetic represents the ultimate expression for the estate of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo.  Like Montepulciano, Trebbiano was once thought to be a workhorse grape without the potential to produce great wine. The interpretation of this wine is original and has a character. Marina Cvetic wines have full body and are elegant and are a “lone voice” for the most demanding and technical experts.

James Suckling -August 11, 2023 "This has aromas of pineapples, smoked almonds, lemon pie and praline. Touch of white chocolate. Creamy, medium- to full-bodied and layered, with plenty of texture and depth and a long,…

Wine Advocate -July 10, 2023 "The 2020 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Riserva Marina Cvetić is glossy and thick with honey, Golden Delicious apple and quince. You will also find softly delivered tones of toasted nut and spice.…

Wine Enthusiast -June 27, 2023 "Vanilla, pineapple and coconut and then a final hint of lemon and orange zest on the nose are repeated on the palate, where they gain depth from notes of spices…

Vinous -October 10, 2022 "The 2020 Trebbiano d’Abruzzo Riserva blends rich notes of honeysuckle, vanilla custard and white flowers with vivid dried peaches and crushed rocks that evolve into white smoke. This soothes the…

Dog Point Vineyard 102406

Pinot Noir 2019

Marlborough

July 07, 2022
Dog Point's renown as a Sauvignon Blanc producers has done nothing to lessen the enthusiasm around their Pinot Noir, today considered one of the finest in New Zealand. What sets their wine apart is the generosity of the structure, which comes off as rich but not sweet, and the complex mingling of fruit and savory notes.

Wine Advocate -August 23, 2022 "Shows salted caramel, maraschino cherry and wild blackberry and blueberry flavors that are plush and robust, with expressive notes of espresso, forest floor, sage, spice and tobacco lingering on a…

Chardonnay 2019

Marlborough

July 07, 2022
Several influential voices in the wine industry believe that in time Chardonnay may prove New Zealand's single highest achievement. All three of the Dog Point wines fermented in barrel are small in production, but the Chardonnay is the smallest, and at times indeed the most dazzling.

Givry 2019

Givry, Burgundy

July 07, 2022
Givry is one of the smallest but most famous of the 5 villages in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, in the southern part of Burgundy. Whole bunch maceration really helps this wine to deliver. It brings structure, matter and a touch of spiciness and freshness.

Wine Spectator -July 07, 2022 "Pure black cherry, blackberry, smoky oak and vanilla flavors are allied to a lively structure in this red. Young, but balance and enticing for its sappy fruit. Fine length. "-…

Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Calistoga, Napa Valley, California

June 30, 2022

The winemaking team works obsessively and passionately with each vintage to capture the best expression of their historic terroir. This is a show-stopper that reveals the perfect blend of flavors, aromas and textures to reach the pinnacle of balance.

Wine Advocate (94+) -April 06, 2023 "The current-release 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate takes a base of ripe cherries and redcurrants, then accents them with delicate herbal-floral nuances. It's medium to full-bodied, restrained in the classic mold,…

Villa Gemma Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2017

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

June 25, 2022
Villa Gemma is the wine that announced Abruzzo to the world, showcasing what the region and grapes of Abruzzo could produce. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is the only Italian wine with 14 consecutive Tre Bicchieri awards and, more importantly, was the wine that established Abruzzo as capable of making truly distinct, extraordinary wines. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is a powerfully – almost undeniably – intense wine of character and complexity.

Wine Advocate -July 10, 2023 "Coming in hot with a 15% alcohol content, the Masciarelli 2017 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva Villa Gemma is super rich and compact with thick layers of dark fruit, blackberry preserves, baked…

Vinous (92+) -October 10, 2022 "The 2017 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva is a dark beauty with balsam herbs giving way to spiced cookie, hints of cinnamon and citrus-kissed black cherries. It’s incredibly elegant in character with…

James Suckling -August 23, 2022 "A gorgeous, polished Abruzzo red with crushed-stone, blackberry and blueberry aromas, as well as hints of graphite and pumice. Full-bodied and tannic, but so balanced and polished. Goes on for…

Château Recougne 2019

Bordeaux Superieur

June 25, 2022
Chateau Recougne has produced wine for more than 400 years, and has been recognized for nearly as long for producing outstanding wine - its name is said to have come from King Henri IV in the early 17th century, in “recognition” of the quality of its wine. This wine offers pure Bordeaux unadulterated and pure.

James Suckling -January 06, 2023 "A crisp and fine tannined Bordeaux with black currant, bark and light mushroom aromas and flavors. Medium body. Bright and vivid." J.S 1/4/23

Decanter -January 05, 2023 "Classy, cool blueberry, plum and pencil lead. The balanced palate exudes ripe fruit, more blueberry than plum, and a touch of chocolate. Density and freshness that suits fine dining." P.K

Wine Enthusiast -June 25, 2022 "This vineyard close to the city of Libourne produces a rich, generous wine. The tannins are fully integrated with the ripe structure and black-plum fruits."

Quinta do Noval 101939

Vintage Port 2020

Douro Valley, Portugal

June 22, 2022
Quinta do Noval Vintage Port is characterized by its purity of fruit and a fine and delicate quality that is typical of the wines of the property in general but which finds its most remarkable and enduring expression in the Vintage Ports. Equilibrium, harmony, finesse and elegance characterize these great Vintage Ports. Unlike other Port houses, Noval produces a Vintage Port every year using only a very strict selection of the very best lots, the quantity produced varying accordingly. It is made exclusively from grapes from the Quinta, in the heart of the Douro Valley. The wines selected for the Quinta do Noval Vintage Port blend represent only a small proportion of the total production.

Wine Enthusiast -March 13, 2023 "Cellar Selection: Text to follow" -5/23

Jeb Dunnuck -February 10, 2023 "Reminding me of the 2003, the 2020 Vintage Port is distinctly different than the 2018 and 2019 and leads with a huge amount of jammy, almost blue fruits as well…

Nacional Vintage Port 2019

Douro Valley, Portugal

July 25, 2022
The word "Nacional" refers to the fact that the vines are Portuguese vines growing in Portuguese soil with no foreign root stock and are therefore "attached to the soil of the Nation." The survival of the tiny parcel (6 acres) of legendary ungrafted vines is a mystery and the National is a unique and extraordinary phenomenon that does not necessarily follow the same rhythm as the rest of the Quinta do Noval. Nacional is every port lover's fantasy and this great wine is a source of pride to the people of Portugal and at its best the finest expression of the extraordinary terroir of Quinta do Noval.

Jeb Dunnuck -February 10, 2023 "Pure perfection in Port, the 2019 Vintage Port Nacional is riveting stuff in every sense, and I certainly can't imagine it being any better. Coming from a single parcel of…

Laurelwood Pinot Noir 2019

Laurelwood District, Chehalem Mountains, Willamette Valley

June 07, 2022
Dick and Nancy Ponzi helped put Oregon on the map in the United States and the world, and the Ponzi family has worked continuously for over 50 years leading and innovating in the region and, in the case of Pinot Noir, across the country and indeed the world. Today winemaker Luisa Ponzi continues her work of the last 30 years with the family of Champagne Bollinger, which acquired Ponzi Vineyards in 2021. The estate’s drive to create distinctly pure Pinot Noir, in a distinctly Oregon manner, has never been stronger.

Gibson Block Syrah 2019

McDowell Valley, California

May 31, 2022
Made from the oldest Syrah vines in California, in the heart of the McDowell Valley AVA, this wine reflects the hidden property where it is grown - quiet, obscure and profound. This ancient, dry farmed, mixed block next to the original Gibson Homestead has been producing grapes for over a hundred years. Limited in production due to the unique grape source, this wine is built to enjoy with food. The estate series from Marietta is made with terroir in mind above all else. For many years these sites were included in blends, though they routinely stood out as extraordinary. These wines are true expressions of unique sites, crafted with freshness, tension and longevity in mind.

Game Trail Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Yorkville Highlands, California

May 31, 2022
The Yorkville Highlands are the mountain pass between the north end of Alexander Valley and the west end of Anderson Valley. From a high elevation site with coastal influence and large diurnal shifts, the Game Trail Cabernet offers an intense, fragrant, savory, and fresh style of Cabernet that speaks of site and demands to be paired with food. This area, with trails worn by mushroom hunters and wild game that travel through the woods, was a refuge for Chris Bilbro, who hunted here and searched for Chanterelles. The mushroom on the label is a tribute to this unique place and its significance. The estate series from Marietta is made with terroir in mind above all else. For many years these sites were included in blends, though they routinely stood out as extraordinary. These wines are true expressions of unique sites, crafted with freshness, tension and longevity in mind.
