Sandrone 105080

Dolcetto d’Alba 2021

Dolcetto d'Alba

December 08, 2022
Sandrone's Dolcetto d'Alba is produced using Dolcetto grapes from 11 different vineyards, all within the Barolo DOCG. Sandrone's Dolcetto sees no time in wood and is a remarkably robust and complex example of the variety.

Wine Enthusiast -January 16, 2023 "The Dolcetto is as dark as night and stains the glass with its intense extraction of color. This richness in color is just the prelude to the ripe and luscious…

Valmaggiore 2020

Nebbiolo d'Alba

December 08, 2022

Vinous -December 08, 2022 "The 2020 Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore is gorgeous. Crushed red berry, spice, leather, mint and rose petal all grace this exquisite, silky Valmaggiore. The aromatics alone are so beguiling, but all…

Brander Vineyards 105027

Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Los Olivos District AVA

December 07, 2022
Brander takes immense pride in their Bordeaux varietal plantings – perhaps none more-so than their Cabernet Sauvignon. Composed mostly of estate fruit, the wine is destemmed and fermented in large vats before aging for 15 months in 25% new French oak. The straightforward style yields a California Cabernet of subtlety and nuance, with an ethereal old-world soul behind plush, ruby tinged fruit and silky tannins.

Wine Enthusiast -December 07, 2022 “Focused aromas of blackberry sauce and black plum are clean and fresh on the nose of this bottling. The ample fruit of the palate is balanced by grippy tannins, dried…

Au Naturel Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Los Olivos District AVA

December 07, 2022
Au Naturel is made from the finest lots of Brander's estate vineyards, carefully selected each year by the winemaking team. Attentive and diligent winemaking further define the character of the wine, with only free run juice used and careful lees aging building the rich yet delicate structure of the wine. The wine shows a concentrated and luscious profile, bristling with bright tropical fruit and tempered by a stony backbone.

Wine Enthusiast -December 07, 2022 “Cut grass, dark green herbs and yellow apple aromas show on the nose of this bottling. It's very lean on the palate with a zippy, energetic acidity that cuts right…

Vinous -December 07, 2022 “The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Au Naturel is laced with hints of pear, mint, chamomile, spice and apricot. Racy and textured in feel, the Au Naturel has plenty of richness to…

Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Los Olivos District AVA

December 07, 2022
This is the wine that made Brander Vineyards - a trendsetting Sauvignon Blanc that came to define a region. Made with a majority of estate fruit, the clean and crisp style that's beloved by so many was crafted by large diurnal shifts and unfussy stainless-steel aging. The results have been consistently lauded since their first vintage in 1977, with the label quickly becoming synonymous with both Brander and the Los Olivos District.

Wine Enthusiast -December 07, 2022 “Crisp and stony aromas of crushed granite meet with grass on the nose, while the palate offers wet cement, lime-peel and freshly mowed lawn flavors.” – Matt Kettman, 7/1/2022

Settlement 104934

Settlement Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020

Marlborough

December 05, 2022
Some of Settlement's youngest vines are represented by their eponymous PInot Noir. Planted in 2009, the fruit already shows a level of depth and soul to be expected from such a unique terrain. With loess and clay soils at steep, north facing slopes, the Settlement Vineyard Pinot Noir displays a dramatic range of flavor woven into a delicate yet confident structure

James Suckling -December 07, 2022 "Aromas of red and black cherries, ash, charcoal and basked raspberries. Medium- to full-bodied with soft tannins. Iron mineral notes ground the crushed cherry palate. Subtle richness in the mid…

Poplars Vineyard Chardonnay 2020

Marlborough

December 05, 2022
Settlement crafts a robust and dynamic chardonnay from the 28 year old vines of the Poplars Vineyard. Coaxing the best from the Mendoza Clone plantings, the wine has a naturally flinty edge that sits in contrast against moderate oak and lees aging.

James Suckling -December 07, 2022 "A vibrant and energetic chardonnay with aromas of poached pears, lemons, roasted almonds, rosemary and flint. It's medium- to full-bodied with excellent energy and focus. Spicy and fragrant edge. From…

Vinicola Cherchi 104791

Cannonau 2019

Cannonau di Sardegna DOC

November 22, 2022
Sardinia’s most widely planted grape and point of cultural wine pride, it’s no wonder that Cherchi cultivates Cannonau in the hills around Usini. A mix of calcareous and clay soils in the Mistral influenced Sassari region provide a uniquely lifted style, which Cherchi puts on full display with minimal winemaking influence.

Vinous -December 01, 2022 "The 2019 Cannonau di Sardegna is pungent upon opening, presenting a display of wild strawberries, peppery herbs and flowery undergrowth. Its soft textures usher in pure bright red berries contrasted…

It is dedicated to the winery's founder, Anselmo Paternoster, and represents the history, roots, and continued importance of the Paternoster family in the area of production of the wines, Vulture.

Tavel 2021

Tavel

November 16, 2022
The Guigal family has been working for decades in Tavel, and today specifically works with 6 growers to produce the traditional style of rosé the region is known for deep fruit, full of spice you find in the reds of the area, structured, and substantial enough to age. Thank goodness this appellation across the river from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 100% dedicated to rosé, still produces wines of this full-bodied style!

Jeb Dunnuck -December 21, 2022 "The 2021 Tavel is richer than the Côtes Du Rhône (as expected) and has a more ruby/salmon hue as well as textbook Tavel notes of wild strawberries, framboise, spice, and…

Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2018

Chateauneuf-du-Pape

November 10, 2022
Guigal produces an intensely concentrated, inviting and complex Châteauneuf-du-Pape that is almost unique to the region today. Their passion for Châteauneuf, the leading appellation of the Southern Rhône, runs as deeply as that for their home sites in the Northern Rhône.

Wine Spectator -September 22, 2023 “Round and softened by time, this wine's bottle aging has brought out softened tobacco notes that layer over cherry and bitter almond skin. Reveals orange peel acidity and cocoa bean…

James Suckling -May 25, 2023 “Excellent harmony of full body, moderately dry tannins and richness. The red fruits are now beautifully developed and there's just a hint of tar. A grenache-based blend that was matured…

Javier San Pedro Ortega 104571

Viuda Negra Crianza 2019

Rioja

November 09, 2022
Sourced from around the famed town of Laguardia in Rioja Alavesa, the Viuda Negra Crianza is a well-defined Tempranillo that demonstrates the remarkable sense of place Javier pulls from all his wines. Jubilant in style, as Javier likes from his Crianza’s, the wine still manages to show a remarkable level of complexity due to 30+ year old vines from higher elevation vineyards.

James Suckling -November 09, 2022 "A exuberant and fruit-forward nose, full of red plums, strawberries and some licorice spices. Medium body with a smooth delivery of bright cherries and sleek tannins. Lots of immediate appeal."

Javier San Pedro Ortega 104569

Las Levantadas 2021

Rioja

November 09, 2022
Levantadas (raised) refers to the upper slopes of Javier’s estate vineyards, a place where white varietals like this retain a high level of acidity while ripening evenly. The results are powerful and precise, while keeping a freshness and lift from the sourcing and light winemaking hand.

James Suckling -November 09, 2022 "Very pale color with smoky and creamy accents to the pure green apples, pears and nectarines. A medium-to full-bodied white with very bright acidity that cuts into the slight phenolic…

Cueva de Lobos Crianza 2019

Rioja

November 08, 2022
This is the style of Rioja Crianza that Spaniards crave: youthful, juicy, lifted reds without excessive weight or overbearing tannins. The Cueva de Lobos Crianza is made from 100% Tempranillo, with a mix of French and American oak providing a subtle nuance and complexity.

James Suckling -November 09, 2022 "Spiced strawberry and plum aromas with some red capsicum on the nose. This is a medium-bodied red with a moderate amount of firm tannins and plummy fruit. Shows balance and…

Champagne Bollinger 104491

Vieilles Vignes Françaises 2013

Champagne, France

November 08, 2022
Vieilles Vignes Françaises is one of Champagne’s most mythical cuvees, produced from miraculously preserved and ungrafted 100% Pinot Noir vines. Phylloxera destroyed the vines of Champagne in the early 20th century, but amazingly enough two of Bollinger’s classified Grands crus plots, Chaudes Terres and Clos St. Jacques, survived and are still grown the traditional way. Madame Lily Bollinger first had this wine produced in 1969 as an anniversary cuvee to commemorate her 70th birthday. Following the wine’s launch in 1974, Vieilles Vignes Françaises promptly became a collectible and a symbol of a bygone era. Over the decades, its uniqueness and scarcity have made it one of the most sought-after and expensive Champagnes.

Wine Advocate -December 15, 2023 "Disgorged in March 2023 with six grams per liter dosage, Bollinger's 2012 Blanc de Noirs Vieilles Vignes Françaises is a powerful, multidimensional Champagne that pushes the house's vinous, Pinot Noir-driven…

Section 94 Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Marlborough

November 07, 2022
Section 94 is widely regarded as the most distinctive and greatest Sauvignon Blanc being made in New Zealand today. James Healy and Ivan Sutherland were among the first to begin fermenting their Sauvignon in barrel with wild yeasts, a technique that along with the old vines they use, leads to a full-bodied wine that is less fruit-forward, more exotic, and has immense textural complexity.

Wine & Spirits -August 18, 2023 "From a block at the estate planted in 1992, this wine develops its leesy richness over the course of 18 months in neutral French oak barrels. It’s tense and tightly…

Wine Spectator -May 24, 2023 “Stunning, with a complex, aromatic mix of beeswax, litsea oil, vetiver and honeysuckle notes up front, followed by ripe peach, melon and lemon curd at the juicy core. Reveals whiffs…

James Suckling -November 17, 2022 (Top 100 Wines of New Zealand 2022) “Layers of crushed stones, smoked almonds, green apples, lemon pith, white pepper, licorice and oyster shells. It's so powerful and concentrated. Tightly wound…

Pinot Noir 2020

Marlborough

November 03, 2022
Dog Point's renown as a Sauvignon Blanc producers has done nothing to lessen the enthusiasm around their Pinot Noir, today considered one of the finest in New Zealand. What sets their wine apart is the generosity of the structure, which comes off as rich but not sweet, and the complex mingling of fruit and savory notes.

Wine Spectator -February 24, 2023 "“Plush and expressive, offering blackberry, black cherry and blueberry notes at the core, backed by hints of bittersweet chocolate, dried herb and tobacco. The velvety tannins linger effortlessly.” - M.W.…
