Le Vigne Barolo 2018

Barolo

May 04, 2022
Le Vigne is a wine created from four different Nebbiolo vineyards, each of which brings its own contribution. This union generates an exceptionally complex wine that is round and harmonious on the palate, with fruity and spicy notes, and this approach of blending together plots is in fact the traditional one in Barolo.

ALESTE Barolo 2018

Barolo

May 04, 2022
ALESTE - a combination of the names of Luciano Sandrone's grandchildren ALEssia and STEfano -- is the new name for Luciano's first wine, the Barolo Cannubi Boschis, which garnered Luciano his early acclaim with the international trade and press. This single-vineyard wine is typically dense and concentrated but shows incredible harmony and balance.

Wine Spectator -January 19, 2023 "An open-knit Barolo highlighted by plum, cherry, leather and tar flavors. Supple in texture before firming up, with dusty, refined tannins lingering on the finish. This should evolve nicely with…

Gestalt Block Pinot Noir 2017

McMinville

April 15, 2022
Winemaker Robert Brittan, a wine industry veteran with the experience of over 45 harvests, has always had a passion for Pinot noir; a love affair that began in the 1980’s when he made several vintages under his Britt Hill label with fruit from Carneros. In 2004, Robert decided to leave Stags’ Leap Winery in Napa and start a Pinot noir project in the cool climate of the northern Willamette Valley. Planted in the Wetsern-most part of the estate, a dense layer of basalt soil greatly diminishes yields, resulting in black fruited wines with high structure and complexity.

Josh Raynolds -April 15, 2022 Glistening ruby-red. Smoke-tinged cherry, dark berries, candied rose and a hint of vanilla on the highly perfumed nose. Intense black raspberry, bitter cherry, licorice and floral pastille flavors show impressive…

Paul Gregutt -April 15, 2022 All of Robert Brittan’s 2017 Pinots are finished at lower alcohol levels than the previous vintage, but remain balanced and ripened appropriately. This is full flavored, with raspberry and black-cherry…

Cygnus Block Pinot Noir 2018

McMinville

April 15, 2022
The three-acre, east facing Cygnus Block was planted in 2008 to the low-yielding Swan Selection of Pinot noir (the only single-selection block on the property). Unlike the rest of the vineyard, rows here are planted in an east/west orientation giving the block a different exposure to the sun and reducing the influence of the Van Duzer winds, which are channeled through the rows instead of across them. This block’s unique aspect, orientation, and selection create fresh, balanced, seamless wines brimming with red fruits. The Cygnus Block is characterized by its eastern exposure, exclusive Swan Clone plantings (Cygnus being the Latinized Greek name for Swan), and east/west orientation, reducing the effect of the Van Duzer corridor.

Vinous -May 03, 2022 Shimmering ruby-red. Highly perfumed, smoke-tinged cherry and blackberry scents are complemented by suggestions of candied rose and succulent herbs. Concentrated yet lively bitter cherry, dark berry and spicecake flavors pick…

Paul Gregutt -April 15, 2022 Complex from the get-go, this marries brambly red fruits to light streaks of caramel, toasted hazelnuts and buttery toast. It’s made from the unusual Swan clone, a California import that…

Estate Syrah 2017

McMinville

April 15, 2022
Winemaker Robert Brittan developed a love for Rhône varieties during his first visit to the Northern Rhône Valley in the early 1980’s. Captivated by the cool climate Syrahs from Cornas and Côte-Rôtie and intrigued by the cool, windy climate in McMinnville, Robert was encouraged to explore how Syrah would express itself on his rugged, exposed hillside.

Paul Gregutt -April 15, 2022 This is as rare as domestic Syrah can be, coming from the northern Willamette Valley and ripened to just 12% alcohol. It’s an elegant, subtle wine with light touches of…

Olivet Lane Chardonnay 2019

Russian River Valley, California

March 24, 2022
Pellegrini’s Olivet Lane Vineyard was planted in 1975 to Wente selection on AXR rootstock. The vineyard sits on 65 acres of sloping bench land in the Santa Rosa Plain, in between the warmer Westside Road region and the cooler Green Valley, where warm summer days are moderated by cool breezes and chilly evening temperatures. The combination of low temperatures, regular fog intrusion and well drained loam, clay soils create an excellent environment for growing Chardonnay that develop cool-climate characteristics and impeccable acid at fairly low sugars. The wines from this vineyard simultaneously express power and finesse, and they do so with tremendous balance.

Wine Spectator -October 04, 2022 "This has intense pineapple, apricot and yuzu flavors that are mouthwatering on a lean, crisp frame. Packs plenty of intensity, with a note of sea salt on the finish." -MW

Messorio 2018

Toscana IGT

March 16, 2022
Messorio, a Merlot monovarietal, is the winery’s crown jewel. Its initial vintage was 1994, and since then it has received extraordinary acclaim, including a 100-point score from the Wine Spectator for the 2004 vintage. The name Messorio refers to the ancient Tuscan practice of wheat harvesting, the most important time of the year in the Bolgheri countryside - once it referred to wheat; these days, it is all about grape harvesting.

Paleo Rosso 2018

Toscana IGT

March 16, 2022
Paleo Rosso has been called Italy's landmark expression of Cabernet Franc. It is named for a type of local wild grass, which once covered the land where its vines are now planted. Originally a blend of several different varieties, the wine has been made from 100% Cabernet Franc since 2001, and was the first mono varietal Cabernet Franc to be produced in Bolgheri. The grapes come from several vineyards on the estate, including Vignone, Madonnina, Puntone and Casa Nuova. Each vineyard is picked separately, and fruit from the same vineyard is often picked more than once at different stages of maturity, resulting in about 20 different pickings.

Jeb Dunnuck -February 03, 2023 "From a fresh vintage, a gorgeous perfume floats from the glass of the 2018 Paleo, with a floral emphasis as well as pure fruit of cherry and raspberry, lavender, and…

Bolgheri Rosso DOC

March 16, 2022
Bolgheri Rosso is a refined, irresistible blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, serving as an introduction to the estate. The wine is, frankly, almost too good at the price. All the intensive artisanal work that Le Macchiole carries out in its vineyards and cellars benefits this wine, and despite more availability than its Paleo Rosso, Messorio and Scrio siblings, it sells out nearly as quickly.

Jeb Dunnuck -February 03, 2023 "The nose of the 2020 Bolgheri Rosso is ripe with fresh red plum, red apple, and cedar, and the wine is medium to full bodied, with silky, fine tannins and…

Vulcanico Falanghina 2021

IGT Basilicata

March 11, 2022
Volcanic wines are currently one of the current hot topics in the wine world, and the Vulcanico Falanghina is having its moment in the sun. The name “Vulcanico” highlights the fact that the grapes are harvested from vineyards near the base of Mount Vulture, an extinct volcano.
