Roseblood d'Estoublon
1489 Roseblood Rosé 2025
Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence
The name 1489 marks the year Château d’Estoublon was founded. This cuvée takes inspiration from the estate’s rose garden, where delicate blooms meet the intense Provençal sun. Made entirely from estate vineyards in AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, it comes from 50-year-old vines growing atop a volcanic crater, shaped by the cooling Mistral wind. A blend of Grenache and Syrah delivers roundness, power, and complexity. Presented in a custom bottle adorned with a rose, 1489 is a true haute-couture expression of Provence.
VINEYARD
The wine is sourced from a north-facing vineyard on the slopes of Provence’s only active volcano. The vines, over 50-years-old, grow in clay-limestone-marl soils with basalt fragments at 1,200 feet above sea level. The cool, deep soils, coupled with the Mistral wind, create optimal conditions for complex, mineral-driven wines.
WINEMAKING
The grapes are meticulously hand-harvested and sorted directly on the bunch, then sorted again upon arrival at the winery. The juice obtained from whole bunch pressing undergoes natural cold settling for 12 hours before the initial racking. Alcoholic fermentation employs both indigenous and selected yeast strains and takes place in stainless steel tanks, large-format vats, and 225L and 500L barrels, with 10% being new.
VINTAGE
A warm, dry 2025 season in Provence accelerated early growth and set a small but pristine crop. Spring stayed clear, protecting flowering, while steady summer heat built ripe fruit without overripeness thanks to cool Mistral nights. Low disease pressure and reduced yields concentrated aromatics and acidity. Harvest arrived early with impeccable balance, producing rosés of lifted red fruit, citrus precision and the region’s signature saline finish.
TASTING NOTE
Bright, pale eau-de-rose with hints of vine peach. The nose reveals wild berries, raspberry, and spring flowers, with touches of vanilla and toast. The palate is generous, airy, and finely balanced, blending freshness and generosity.
