Trade Tools Listen

Masciarelli Trebbiano d’Abruzzo redefined what Trebbiano could be, showing the grape’s full potential in Abruzzo’s soils and climate. Made from 100% estate-grown Trebbiano, it offers a vibrant expression of stone fruits, a concentrated, round mid-palate, and a mineral-driven, complex finish. Sourced from vineyards at varied elevations, the wine is softly pressed, fermented in stainless steel over 15 days, and crafted with low intervention. Fresh, flavorful, and far more serious than most Italian whites at this level, it stands among Italy’s finest.

VINEYARD

In a span of only 30 miles between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea, Masciarelli has carefully assembled 60 specific sites averaging just 5 acres and spread across the diverse soils and altitudes of the 4 provinces of Abruzzo. These vineyards are farmed sustainably, and the five specific vineyards that bear fruit for this wine range in altitude from 435 to 1,200 feet with soils of calcareous clay and lime.

WINEMAKING

After destemming, the grapes are pressed and undergo a long, cool fermentation in stainless steel. Further aging in stainless steel maintains the freshness and vibrancy of the fruit producing a wine that exhibits bright apricot, orchard fruit and iris aromas and flavors.

VINTAGE

The 2025 vintage benefited from a well-balanced growing season: generous winter rains built soil reserves, spring warmth delivered uniform budbreak and minimal disease pressure, and summer’s heat eased into pronounced day-night swings that bolstered aromatic development and retained acidity. Harvest began in mid-late August with grapes showing excellent health, vibrant freshness, and expressive varietal character. This vintage promises a clean, mineral-infused Trebbiano with clarity of fruit and vibrant tension reflective of its Mediterranean terroir.

TASTING NOTE

Delightful, expressive combination of stone fruits with a round, concentrated mid-palate that finishes with minerality and, as with all the wines, complex and long.

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Masicarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is the benchmark for Montepulciano in Italy and the world. Pioneering winemaker Gianni Masciarelli, who put winemaking Abruzzo on the map, elevated the wines from his native region to new heights, and his Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a tribute to his home as well as a perfect introduction to the grape and to Abruzzo. This wine shows how, when handled with care, the late ripening Montepulciano grape  produces refined wines of soft acidity, ripe and moderate tannins, and bright red berry and cherry notes with a distinct, spicy character.

Rosato

Colline Teatine IGT

Abruzzo and the Montepulciano grape are famous for making arguably the finest rose in Italy, from one of the only appellations in Italy dedicated completely to rose; Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo. This Rosato is the little sister - a fresh and totally delightful expression.
