Roseblood d'Estoublon
1489 Roseblood Blanc 2023
Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence
The name 1489 marks the founding year of Château d’Estoublon and takes inspiration from the estate’s rose garden, where delicate blooms meet the intense Provençal sun. Made entirely from estate-grown Rolle in AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, this luminous gold wine is hand-harvested and crafted with precision. It offers floral and fruity notes with remarkable purity and elegance. Presented in a custom bottle adorned with a rose, 1489 Blanc is a refined, haute-couture expression of Provence.
VINEYARD
The vines face north and northeast and are planted on very deep clay-limestone-marl soils. They are situated on the crater of Provence's sole volcano, on parcels at altitudes exceeding 1,300 feet. Approximately 10 years old, the vines originate from a massal selection and benefit from the nurturing influence of the Mistral wind.
WINEMAKING
The hand-harvested bunches are sorted upon arrival at the winery. The whole bunch pressing cycle preserves the natural acidity of the juice. The juice is then cold settled before beginning alcoholic fermentation. Indigenous yeasts naturally present in the grapes are used for fermentation.
VINTAGE
2023 was a solar and graceful vintage, exhibiting a delightful aromatic expression with interplay of acidity and freshness.
TASTING NOTE
Beautiful robe of luminous gold with green hues. The nose exhibits great freshness and roundness, with notes of fennel combined with aromas of white peach, toasted brioche, and candied citrus zests. Lively and expressive, the palate evokes ripe fruit
FOOD PAIRING
Ideal to accompany a beautiful cheese platter, a carpaccio of scallops, and Poularde Fermière with morel cream sauce and fresh Italian pappardelle.

Reviews

Wine Spectator - April 15, 2024 "A salty, smoky white, with weight to the juicy lemon and peach flavors. More savory than fruit-driven, with leesiness and a crushed flint note lining the finish. Subtle toastiness adds textural breadth and roundness, offset by mineral intensity. Succulent acidity courses through, with the lift of citrus blossoms on the lingering finish."

James Suckling - December 5, 2024 "An elegant, reserved nose of white fruit and subtle spices. Textured and dry but pretty flavorful, with a medium to full body and a round finish. From organically grown grapes."
