Trade Tools

Château de Nalys Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grand Vin Blanc showcases Guigal’s expertise in Rhône white wines, combining power, elegance, and expression. The wine offers an intensely aromatic nose of white flowers, citrus, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, a deep minerality complements the floral and citrus notes, creating a penetrating presence. With 18% of the estate planted to white varieties, Nalys produces one of the most complex and expressive whites in the region. Guigal’s leadership in Rhône whites is evident in this exceptional wine.

VINEYARD

This wine is produced from four exceptional terroirs: “Nalys” (30%) with red sandstone typical of the Comtat and Saffres, “Bois Sénéchal” (30%), “La Crau” (25%) and “Piedlong” (15%), the last three constituted of ancient alluvial stones from the Rhone, the famous galets.

WINEMAKING

Manual harvest and sorting, pressing and clarification of must before vinification taking place 70% in wood and 30% in stainless steel.

VINTAGE

Châteauneuf-du-Pape's 2023 vintage delivered a warm, intense growing season shaped by Mistral winds and a critical late-August rain that saved the harvest from excess heat. An extended red wine harvest through October allowed producers to achieve full phenolic maturity.

TASTING NOTE

Pale youthful gold, clear and brilliant. Intense nose of white flowers and citrus with a lovely vanilla note. A noble wine with breadth, elegance and length, a noble wine.

Wine Advocate - November 20, 2025 "The 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc from Château de Nalys is showing brilliantly, offering up aromas of orange blossom, white fruits, Anjou pear and toasted nuts. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and layered, it is textural and fleshy at the core, leading to a mineral, penetrating and long finish."

Wine Enthusiast - March 31, 2026 "The nose is layered with warm baking spices over a core of pure white peach and white tea, complemented by delicate white florals that add depth and elegance. The palate is precise and linear, with the spices framing and elevating the fruit throughout. Poised and finely structured, it should cellar well through 2035+."

Wine Spectator - February 28, 2026 "A decadent, modern style, showing a flattering brush of toasty oak and salted butter draped over juicy melon, apple and pear. Creamy and rich in feel, with warm spice notes adding detail to the long, lush finish. Racy minerality courses throughout, bringing balance and freshness. Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Clairette and Picardan. Drink now through 2029."

Vinous - October 1, 2025 "The 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc is delicious, opening with intense honeysuckle, lemon flesh, yellow apple and discrete vanilla tones. Touching the full-bodied palate with elevated flavor concentration and lifting freshness, the 2023 is such a complete Blanc that will offer plenty of pleasure for at least four more years."

Saintes Pierres de Nalys Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc

Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The second white wine to the Chateau de Nalys Grand Vin Blanc has a character all its own, with a strongly different varietal and plot composition, and like its red Saintes Pierres counterpart, a fermentation, and aging geared towards emphasizing freshness. The hallmark seamlessness of Guigal's white wines is especially evident in this wine, which is unlike any Chateauneuf white we have experienced in its grace and lift.

Saintes Pierres de Nalys Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Translated as "holy stones", a play on the soils and history of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the second red wine to Chateau de Nalys is an altogether different animal.  Differing varietal and plot selections, fermentation, and aging result in a wine that is rich and ample, yet offers immense direct and approachable pleasure; a wine of red fruits, supple structure and brightness.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grand Vin

Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The realization of the Guigal family's dream of Chateauneuf-du-Pape: 3 extraordinary vineyards coming together in an intensely expressive, utterly complete wine. It defines the estate style with a precision of fruit, spice and mineral structures and, notably, a beautifully composed structure that builds and unfolds.
