Ponzi Vineyards Laurelwood Pinot Noir 2023

Laurelwood District

August 25, 2026 - As Wine Spectator once wrote, “All Oregon Pinot Noirs are measured against the Ponzi yardstick.” For over 50 years, the Ponzi family has farmed 140 acres of certified sustainable vineyards on Laurelwood soils. This wine is the result of a decade's long effort by sisters Maria and Luisa and neighboring growers to establish the Laurelwood District, Oregon’s first soil-based AVA. The area’s volcanic basalts, layered with windblown loess, shape the vines' evolution. Bright red fruit gives way to dark berry and brambly spice as the vines mature.

Hermitage

August 24, 2026 - E. Guigal Hermitage Blanc is a rare gem from one of France’s most renowned appellations. While white Rhône wines are scarce, Guigal’s focus on this style makes them a standout, with whites making up 25% of their production. This wine blends explosive floral and fruit aromas with intense minerality and a silky concentration of flavors. Made primarily from Marsanne, with a hint of Roussanne, it finishes remarkably fresh, capturing the warmth and complexity of the Northern Rhône. This is a true discovery for those seeking elegance and depth.
