Clos des Marconnets sits on the upper slope at the northern edge of the Beaune appellation, a Premier Cru climat whose name traces back to the Germanic Marcomanni tribe, believed to have settled this land in the 3rd century AD. Domaine Chanson owns 3.2 hectares here, representing nearly 40% of the total climat, enclosed by traditional stone walls. It is one of the domaine’s most important holdings, and one of Beaune’s most distinctive sites. Planted to Pinot Noir on clay and limestone soils with a southeast exposure, and aged up to 19 months in French oak, the wine is structured and complex, with aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry woven with floral notes, a fleshy, tight texture, and a long, spicy finish.
VINEYARD
Les Marconnets sits on the upper slope at the northern edge of the Beaune appellation, with a southeast exposure on clay and limestone soils. Domaine Chanson owns 3.2 hectares here, representing nearly 40% of the total climat, enclosed by traditional stone walls. The vineyard takes its name from the Marcomanni, a Germanic tribe believed to have settled this land during the 3rd century AD. A perennial spring emerges at the center of the parcel, a singular feature that contributes to the site's distinctive microclimate and the structured, complex character of the wines it produces.
WINEMAKING
Hand-picked in small crates, followed by meticulous sorting (40 people). Partial destemming (50 %), followed by cooling of the bunches (8 to 10°C) for a 5-day pre-fermentation cold maceration. Fermentation in small-volume stainless steel tanks, with punching down and pumping over adapted to each appellation to extract color and aroma. Gentle gravity pressing ensures delicate extraction. Aged 19 months on fine lees in French oak barrels (25% new, barrels from 1 to 6 years old, 228L). Bottled according to the lunar calendar.
VINTAGE
2024 began with a mild winter and an early bud break, tempered by scattered frost episodes in spring. Heavy rains, thunderstorms, and reduced sunshine through spring and summer created sustained disease pressure and uneven ripening across the region. It was a demanding vintage that required exceptional care and skill in both the vineyard and the cellar.
TASTING NOTE
Ruby color. Aromas of black berries (blackcurrant and backberry) mixed with floral fragrances. Complex, tight with a fleshy texture. Beautiful tannic structure. Long and spicy finish.

Domaine Chanson Mercurey Premier Cru is made from grapes sourced from carefully selected Premier Cru plots with East and South-East exposures, providing generosity and typicity true to the appellation. Mercurey, the highest-yielding appellation in the Côte Chalonnaise, produces nearly a quarter of its vineyards as Premier Cru. This wine has a bright ruby color with floral aromas and intense red fruit and pepper notes. It has a deep, tight texture, well-crafted structure, and a long finish with crunchy fruit notes.

The area of production is located in the commune of Nuits Saint Georges, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The grapes are sourced from selected plots of vineyard South of the village, at the border of the "Premier Cru" area.
Beaune Clos des Mouches Rouge 1er Cru

Chanson is one of the major owners of Clos des Mouches with a vineyard of 4.5 hectares. Ideal location on the hill at the southern end of the vineyards of Beaune on a spur pointing toward Pommard. A plot of 2.5 hectares is planted with Pinot Noir on a limestone subsoil covered with clay.

A Chanson "monopole" in the very heart of the first Growths vineyards of Beaune. The vineyard covering 3.80 ha is located on a mid slope. The "Clos des Fèves" was already known in the 14th century under the latin word "Fae".

The vineyard is ideally located nearby the famous Montrachet and Chevalier Montrachet. It has a southeast exposure. The high proportion of clay gives to the wine a specific minerality which underlines the typicality of the Chardonnay. The vines are planted at regular distance of each other which enables deep ploughing of the soil.
Gevrey-Chambertin La Perriere 1er Cru

Gevrey Chambertin is the most famous appellation of the "Côte de Nuits" and the climat "La Perrière" is located in the heart of the Premier Cru area. The grapes are sourced from a partner winegrower but are picked by members of the Chanson team.
