Domaine Chanson Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru Les Chenevottes is an exceptional 1.9 hectare plot located near the famous Montrachet. With clay-limestone soils on the renowned Chassagne stone, this vineyard faces south-west and benefits from fresh air that imparts purity and aromatic freshness to the wine. The wine has a beautiful pale gold color and a complex nose with floral fragrances, citrus zest, apricots, white peach, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is well-structured, precise, and taut, with a refined texture and a long, elegant finish. The gravelly, pebbly soil provides good drainage, while the southeast-facing slope allows the vines to ripen fully, preserving acidity. The name Les Chenevottes likely refers to hemp, a crop once grown here.
VINEYARD
Les Chenevottes is a 1.9-hectare Premier Cru parcel in Chassagne-Montrachet, situated directly adjacent to the celebrated Le Montrachet. Southwest-facing and positioned on the road to Saint-Aubin, the plot benefits from fresh air that conveys purity and vibrancy to the wine. The soils are clay and limestone, interwoven with the characteristic stone of Chassagne, forming an unmistakably mineral terroir organized into small interlocking blocs. That fragmented mosaic of soil drives concentration and complexity in the fruit, producing wines that reflect both the precision of their terroir and the freshness of their elevated, airy position.
WINEMAKING
Hand-picked in small crates, followed by meticulous sorting. Whole bunch pressing for gentle extraction. Fermentation in barrel at low temperature for 15 to 20 days, favoring aromatic complexity and freshness. Aged on fine lees in French oak barrels, 20% new, ranging from one to six years old, in Domaine Chanson's 15th-century Bastion cellar. Bottled according to the lunar calendar.
VINTAGE
2022 brought marked temperature swings through January and February before spring settled in with mild conditions. A cold snap in April gave way to warm May temperatures, but water stress through the season was significant and never fully offset by June storms. Summer brought several prolonged heat waves, with welcome relief arriving only at the end of August. Harvest ran from August 30 to September 13, yielding a generous vintage both in volume and quality. The white wines are well-balanced, precise, and refreshing.
TASTING NOTE
Gold. Intense aromas of citrus peel, apricot, and white peach with a hint of vanilla. Complex and well-structured on the palate, with a precise, sappy texture and a long, elegant finish.

Mercurey, the highest-yielding appellation in the Côte Chalonnaise, produces nearly a quarter of its vineyards as Premier Cru. This wine has a bright ruby color with floral aromas and intense red fruit and pepper notes. It has a deep, tight texture, well-crafted structure, and a long finish with crunchy fruit notes.

Chanson is one of the major owners of Clos des Mouches with a vineyard of 4.5 hectares. Ideal location on the hill at the southern end of the vineyards of Beaune on a spur pointing toward Pommard. A plot of 2.5 hectares is planted with Pinot Noir on a limestone subsoil covered with clay.
