Woody Creek Distillers
Potato Vodka
Basalt, Colorado
It began as an obsession to create the world’s best vodka from the ground up – or in this case, just below it. Each surprisingly complex sip of potato vodka was born of locally harvested Rio Grande potatoes, mashed fresh and distilled only once to bring you a rare vodka with a character all its own.
Fermentation
Just days or hours after being pulled from the ground, Woody Creek’s estate managed Rio Grande potatoes are washed, peeled, mashed, and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation takes about 3 days
Distillation
Custom-made CARL stills: 2 x 2,000 Liter, copper, Continuous 34-foot rectification column still with 21 plates. Water sourced from springs in the Rocky Mountains
Tasting Note
On the nose sweet cream with a velvety mouthfeel of buttery nuttiness and a finish of slight warm rosemary pepper notes.
