Vignerons Ardéchois
Chardonnay 2021
Ardèche
Vignerons Ardéchois’ Chardonnay does a remarkable balancing act between bright citrus and green apple notes and a delicately buttery texture. The wine’s versatile flavor profile appeals to a broad range of Chardonnay and white wine drinkers alike.
Vineyard
Most of the Chardonnay comes from between Valvignères and Vogüé, in the North of the Ardèche growing region. Soils are mostly composed of chalky-clay soils, vineyards are 400-500 meters above sea level.
Winemaking
The grapes are picked and pressed early in the morning to preserve aromatic complexity. The wine then sits on its lees for 4-6 months in stainless steel before bottling. 50% of malolactic fermentation is blocked to provide both a creamy and acidic structure.
Tasting Note
The Chardonnay is a balanced and finely crafted wine, with plenty of green apple and fresh citrus zest providing an uplifting finish. A small amount of oak contributes to a gently creamy texture and vanilla taste.
