Heritage Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Featuring 30 year old vines planted over free-draining silt/clay loams, the Heritage Vineyard produces Sauvignon Blancs of typical Marlborough intensity, bolstered by elevated acidity and steely textures.
Vineyard
The Heritage Vineyard is planted on silty loams overlying a clay sub soil. Its layered profile is free-draining, a result of historical flooding from the Wairau River across the valley floor. It has been certified organic since 2012.
Winemaking
Grapes are harvested and pressed straight into stainless steel. After settling for three days the must is racked and fermented, 15% of which is done in old French oak. The wine sees 5 months in tank before bottling without filtration.
Vintage
The 2022 vintage started off with good growing conditions. However, significant rainfall during December and February produced some growing challenges with vine work paramount to retain high quality fruit.
Tasting Note
Aromas of ripe freshly cut citrus fruits, reminiscent of pristine lemons and oranges, intertwined with lifted aromas of spring blossoms. Not a simple example of this sought-after style, the palate shows excellent concentration, poise, and length.

It's prickly and vibrant, with lovely texture and an acidity that makes the mouth water, leaving you craving another sip."
