Tommasi
De Buris Amarone Riserva 2010
Valpolicella Classico Superiore
De Buris comes from the fourth generation of the Tommasi family, conceived as an Amarone Riserva and their most personal statement on the Valpolicella Classica. The wine comes from La Groletta, a recognized cru at 250 meters above sea level, where the cooling influence of Lake Garda and the austerity of the Lessini Mountains shape a microclimate of real distinction. Soils are lean, calcareous, and mineral-rich, driving concentration deep into the fruit before harvest even begins.
The winemaking is led by Giancarlo Tommasi, who brings both technical mastery and a deep understanding of the land. The process is unhurried: selection, drying, fermentation, extended aging, and patient blending. The result is an Amarone that honors the tradition of the territory while reflecting the ambitions of a new generation.
VINEYARD
La Groletta is a 10-hectare site in the commune of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, with fruit selected from 1.9 hectares of the parcel and approximately 0.5 hectares of the La Groletta cru. Situated at 250 meters above sea level with a southwest exposure toward Lake Garda, the vineyard benefits from exceptional light and a distinctive terroir. Soils are clayey and calcareous, of medium texture and moderately stony, with a pH of 7 to 7.5. Rich in limestone, potassium, and calcium, with low concentrations of magnesium and iron, the soils are lean and low in organic matter, driving the vines to produce concentrated, characterful fruit. Vines are trained to Guyot at a density of 6,500 per hectare, averaging 30 years of age, with yields held to 6,000 kilos per hectare.
WINEMAKING
The grapes were pressed in January, followed by brief cryomaceration, lasting around 10 days. A slow fermentation then took place for 30 days in oak vats, using exclusively indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation was carried out once during the first year of aging in Slavonian oak casks. The wine continued its maturation for 5 years in 15-30hl casks in the ancient cellar of Villa De Buris, where it also underwent bottle-aging.
VINTAGE
2010 began with a long, cold winter that delayed the vine cycle slightly. A wet spring with below-average temperatures led to lush flowering and an abundant crop — good in size, with sparser bunches well suited to drying. Harvest began on September 23, about 10 days later than usual. Grapes destined for Amarone were picked with meticulous care and dried for approximately three months, finishing on January 10. Cooling fans were employed throughout to maintain ideal temperature and humidity. The result was excellent: healthy fruit with a moisture loss of over 40%.
TASTING NOTE
Aromas of undergrowth, blackberry, ground coffee, dark chocolate, and pink peppercorn. Full-bodied on the palate, with firm, velvety tannins, vibrant acidity, and savory mineral notes. Finishes long with licorice and mocha.

Tommasi Filodora represents the best of Prosecco: coming from Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, the most prestigious areas of the Prosecco appellation, this fresh sparkling wine is the perfect sparkler for any occasion. The wine has been part of the Tommasi portfolio since 2012, when the winery celebrated its 110th anniversary; it was important to the family to begin producing wine in the area that their home region of the Veneto is perhaps best known for.
Le Volpare Soave Classico
Soave Classico DOC
This 100% single-vineyard Garganega is a perfect representation of the Veneto's defining white wine. Though a pure pleasure to drink on its own, the wine's moderate acidity, elegant perfume and high concentration of aromatic compounds makes it a versatile paring wine as well.
Lugana
Lugana DOC
Le Fornaci hails from Lugana, a trendy, growing appellation on the southern shores of Lake Garda. Tommasi has long owned an estate in the village of San Martino della Battaglia, where they produce elegant white wines made from the indigenous and largely unknown Turbiana grape.
Rafaèl Valpolicella Classico Superiore
This Valpolicella comes from the historical Tommasi family vineyard, Rafaèl. Perfectly situated on one of the region’s most famous hills, Monte Masua, it produces what may be the best grapes for the production of Valpolicella Classico Superiore.
Ripasso Valpolicella
Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC
This wine is made by refermenting the juice from the Valpolicella on the warm Amarone grape skins, in the typical “Ripasso” method, which imparts a rich character and personality to the wine. The grapes for the Ripasso Valpolicella are sourced from three of most prestigious Tommasi vineyards: Conca d’Oro, La Groletta and De Buris.
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG
Tommasi's traditional approach to Amarone favors elegance and balance, with deep fruit complemented by spicy, earthy flavors. The grapes come from the family’s choicest plots in the Valpolicella Classica region. Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Ca’ Florian
Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG
Ca' Florian is the feather in the cap of the Tommasi family's production in Valpolicella. Amarone Riserva “Ca ‘Florian” is made with selected grapes from one of the oldest vineyards owned by the Tommasi family. The grapes come from vines with an average age of 30 years.
Le Rosse Pinot Grigio
DOC delle Venezie
This Valpolicella Pinot Grigio can be described as sitting between the richer, more concentrated Pinot Grigio from Friuli to the north, and racier styles from the Veneto at large. The nose is spicy with hints of tropical fruit, the flavors clean and crisp, and the body round and soft with a crisp finish.
