Le Macchiole Messorio 2021

Toscana IGT

March 26, 2025 - Messorio, a Merlot monovarietal, is the winery’s crown jewel. Its initial vintage was 1994, and since then it has received extraordinary acclaim, including a 100-point score from the Wine Spectator for the 2004 vintage. The name Messorio refers to the ancient Tuscan practice of wheat harvesting, the most important time of the year in the Bolgheri countryside - once it referred to wheat; these days, it is all about grape harvesting.

Vinous - June 13, 2024 "The 2021 Messorio (Merlot) is a wine of pure and total sensuality. Dark, layered and enveloping, the 2021 boasts notable textural richness from start to finish. Dark red-toned fruit, spice,…

Wine Spectator - March 14, 2024 "Plum, pomegranate and blackberry fruit is framed by toasty oak and vanilla notes in this fresh, brilliant red. Iron and tobacco accents add detail as this cruises to the long,…

E. Guigal Saint-Joseph 2020

Rhône Valley

March 25, 2025 - Saint-Joseph today is one of the most exciting appellations in the Rhone Valley, and dare we say all of France. The work by leading producers such as Guigal, energy from young growers, and recognition (really, re-discovery) of sites capable of making wines of extraordinary depth and complexity; of the same family as its famous neighbor in Hermitage, but with a distinct suppleness and elegance.

Settlement Heritage Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Marlborough

February 10, 2025 - Featuring 30 year old vines planted over free-draining silt/clay loams, the Heritage Vineyard produces Sauvignon Blancs of typical Marlborough intensity, bolstered by elevated acidity and steely textures.

Wine Enthusiast - December 22, 2023 "From a single 33-year-old vineyard in the Wairau, this strikes a fine balance between pungent green-veg aromas like bell pepper and snap pea, and fruitier ones like passion fruit, white…

Far Mountain Fission Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Moon Mountain District, Sonoma Valley, California

December 05, 2024 - Fission is a pure mountain wine, with a dark depth of fruit chiseled by the cool elevation of its two vineyard sites.  A wine of texture, with the intensity and sappy concentration we associate with old vines, it builds into powerful tannins that remain refined, almost cloaked by the seductiveness of the fruit and the gently building structure. The name "Fission" references the textural and mineral characteristics that the unique volcanic soil brings to this wine.

Vinous - July 08, 2024 "Ample and deep, the 2021 Fission possesses tons of complexity from the very first taste. Brambly overtones meld into leather, cedar, tobacco and dried herbs. Brooding tannins wrap it all…
