Sourced from the Quartz Acorn Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The vineyard’s ancient marine sedimentary soils, rich in quartz, are well-draining and yield smaller berries and clusters, resulting in wines of depth, structure and concentration. The wine shows notes of dark fruit, herbs and spices, supported by structured tannins and a vibrant minerality, hallmarks of the distinctive marine sedimentary soils.

James Suckling - January 20, 2026 "Pretty and perfumed, with aromas of dried flowers, pink peppercorns and bitter citrus zest. Quite intense for a medium bodied wine. The palate is so lifted and fresh, with a steely core of minerals than runs through the long finish. A bit edgy at this young age, it will evolve wonderfully. Drink or hold."

The 2024 is structured and long, leaving a chewy concentration and a hint of sour cherry on the finish."

The Quartz Acorn Vineyard, located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, faces southeast and is rooted in ancient, well-draining marine sedimentary soils rich in quartz. Hand-sorted, 100% barrel fermented with full malolactic. It is aged on lees for 10 months in 20% new French oak. On the palate, it offers notes of apple and peach, bright citrus and white flowers, balanced by light creaminess, lively acidity, and a clean, saline finish.

The calling card of Domaine Roy & Fils, the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is the only Pinot from the winery that comes from both estate vineyards–Iron Filbert in Dundee Hills and Quartz Acron in Yamhill-Carlton. The wine sees 15 days of maceration on the skins followed by 10 months of lees aging in barriques, of which only 10% are new oak. The wine expresses the signature style of Domaine Roy & Fils, favoring elegance over power: floral notes mix with lifted red fruit on the nose, followed by a bright, sappy Bing cherry character on the palate.
