Premium Napa Valley Wines

The South Florida Reporter included Chateau Montelena in a story focused on benchmark producers in Napa Valley.

Sharing some historical details on the property, writers Tom Marquardt and Patrick Darr state that “Chateau Montelena is an indisputable icon in Napa Valley.” Offering additional context they explain that while “its chardonnay got the attention for besting French Burgundy in the 1976 Judgment of Paris wine competition, its cabernet sauvignon deserves the gold.  This wine has a stunning, deep bouquet of red berries and dense black fruit flavors with hints of tea, leather and coffee.”

The piece also recommends the winery’s 2017 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Read the full article HERE.

That year a who's-who of the French wine establishment gathered in Paris for a blind tasting of French and American wines. When the scores were tallied, the top-ranking white wine was Chateau Montelena's 1973 Chardonnay. Montelena today continues to be a quality benchmark in Napa Valley, producing some of the finest Cabernet and Chardonnay in California.
