VINEYARD
This wine grows from a vineyard of three terraces of Albarese soils at 500 meters or more above sea level at the Tenuta Perano in Gaiole.
WINEMAKING
A gentle, anaerobic prsteel ess preserves the wine’s fresh aromatics. Alcoholic fermentation occurs in stainless and a small portion of barriques, with some added time in bottle before release.
VINTAGE
The 2022 Chianti vintage began with a cool, dry winter and warm, early spring, followed by a hot summer that prompted some irrigation. Late July and early August rains relieved the drought, ensuring the harvest aligned with average timings. The harvest started in mid-September with international varieties, followed by Sangiovese. Although drought reduced yields, the resulting fruit was concentrated, promising high-quality wines. Despite challenges, the vintage shows great potential for depth and structure.
TASTING NOTE
A standout wine for its richness and depth balanced by the elegance of high-elevation Sangiovese, this wine shows notes of wild berries and violets with a wonderful spice.
