Tabarrini
Boccatone 2017
Montefalco Rosso DOC
Boccatone is a joyful expression of Montefalco and a wonderful counterpart to the single vineyard Sagrantinos of Tabarrini. Made from a majority of Sangiovese and finished with Barbera and Sagrantino, the blend expresses the serious and age worthy side of the estate with an accessibly joyful palate.

The wine comes from south-east facing hillsides in Montefalco, with vines planted in the early 90s. Soils are a mix of sand and clay.

After a month-long maceration on its skins, the wine is aged for 18 months in mixed sizes of oak. The wine then rests for 12 months in bottle before release.

A notably warm year with reduced yields resulted in wines of intensity and structure, playing into the bold style of the region.
Tasting Note

A wine that graciously introduces the rest of the Tabarrini lineup, Boccatone is bold and bombastic, with joyous fruit sitting atop a structure pulsating with acidity and gently ripe tannins.
