Ponzi Vineyards

Pinot Gris 2024

Willamette Valley

Trade Tools

Ponzi, a pioneer in Oregon Pinot Gris, helped establish it as the state’s first quality white grape variety. Their Pinot Gris is aromatic, expressive, and perfect for easy drinking, offering fantastic value with serious pedigree. Sourced from Ponzi’s LIVE Certified Sustainable vineyards, including Avellana, Aurora, and Madrona, as well as select Willamette Valley sites, the Pinot Gris features warm aromas of marmalade, yellow plum, and honeycomb balanced by fresh lemongrass and lavender. The mouthfeel is textured with dried apricot, mango, and vanilla, finishing with bright acidity and salted caramel.

VINEYARD

"Tavola is made from the younger vines, 15 – 25 years old, at Ponzi’s top vineyard sites. The older vines produce wines with firmer tannin structures built to age for decades. These younger vines produce wines that are more fruit forward, with softer tannins, making them ideal for earlier consumption. Of course, the vineyards are all L.I.V.E certified sustainable; America’s most rigorous organic accreditation. "

WINEMAKING

"Direct to press and handled gently so no color is extracted from the pink skins. The must is cold fermented in steel to preserve the delicate aromas. The wine is rested briefly on the lees to add texture, and then bottled by gravity. "

VINTAGE

2023 was quite warm, producing large crops of intensely flavored fruit. Harvest was thankfully completed in dry conditions and with no disease pressure.

TASTING NOTE

Passionfruit, kumquat, kiwi waft from this aromatic nose. Tropical notes mingled with jasmine, lavender, and pear. The compelling nose leads to a full, juicy mouth of yellow plum, honeydew, salty freshness, starfruit and sweet meyer lemon.

FOOD PAIRING

A versatile wine that easily stands alone as an aperitif then pairs with Japanese, Chinese & Korean dishes as well as soft cheeses.

James Suckling - January 29, 2026 "A delicate, aromatic, light-bodied wine with a fresh and crunchy palate and mouthwatering acidity. Aromas of green pears, orchard fruit and blossoms, with flavors of grapefruit and white peaches. It is fresh, easy drinking and a great value. Drink now."

Dick and Nancy Ponzi helped put Oregon on the map in the United States and the world, and the Ponzi family has worked continuously for over 50 years leading and innovating in the region and, in the case of Pinot Noir, across the country and indeed the world. Today winemaker Luisa Ponzi continues her work of the last 30 years with the family of Champagne Bollinger, which acquired Ponzi Vineyards in 2021. The estate’s drive to create distinctly pure Pinot Noir, in a distinctly Oregon manner, has never been stronger.
