Pietramaggio
Seta Toscana 2021
Pietramaggio Seta is a Toscana IGT red blend from certified organic vineyards in Pontassieve, located within Chianti Rufina, near the Sieve River. Chianti Rufina, considered the best of Chianti’s subregions, benefits from high altitudes and cooler temperatures. This blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot offers red berry, thyme, and clove aromas. Supple and youthful, it boasts great structure and fresh acidity.
Vineyard
From certified organic vineyards in the town of Pontassieve in Chianti Rufina. The southeast-facing vines are grown in clay and limestone at about 1,000 feet above sea level.
Winemaking
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures before the wine is transferred to glass-lined cement vats for malolactic fermentation. It remains in the cement vats for 10-12 months of aging.
Vintage
2021 was a great vintage in Chianti. The summer heat was great for Cabernet and Merlot, while the high-altitude terroir of Rufina helped retain acidity.
Tasting Note
This wine is packed with aromas of red berries, thyme, and cloves. It’s supple and youthful, while maintaining great structure and fresh acidity.
