Old Vine Ranch

Cabernet Sauvignon 2024

California

Trade Tools

Inspired by Marietta’s original cult wine, Old Vine Red, the Old Vine Cabernet embraces the same focus on simplicity and quality. Crafted to let the fruit shine, minimal handling in the cellar preserves its true character. Bold and rich, this Cabernet showcases layers of spice and oak, all surrounding a core of dark, ripe black currant. Designed to bring people together, it is a wine that celebrates both tradition and the pure expression of its exceptional vineyard sites.

WINEMAKING

The goal of winemaking at Marietta is to let the fruit speak for itself. Cool fermentations, neutral oak and stainless steel all work in concert to preserve the purity of fruit in the “OVR” wines. 60% aged in neutral barrels and 40% aged in stainless steel.

VINTAGE

The 2024 Central Coast vintage is shaping up to be excellent, with a steady growing season, moderate rainfall, and well-timed warmth. A mild summer and late heat allowed for ideal ripening, leading to wines with freshness, balance, and depth. While some areas faced heat spikes and lower yields, the overall quality remains high. Whites are aromatic and vibrant, while reds show structured tannins and strong aging potential. Winemakers are optimistic about the balance and longevity of this vintage.

TASTING NOTE

Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon is bold and rich with lovely notes of spice and oak wrapped around a core of black currant. Enjoy this smooth, vibrant red wine anytime with your favorite combination of friends, family, and food.

Sauvignon Blanc

California, United States

Inspired by Marietta's original cult wine, Old Vine Red, the Old Vine Sauvignon Blanc draws on the same simple focus to make delicious wines that bring people together. Made in a fresh, fruity style, this Sauvignon Blanc is somewhere between New Zealand and the Loire in its tropical fruit profile; bright and juicy with lovely white floral notes wrapped around a papaya and grapefruit core.

Rosé

California, United States

Made in a Provençal style from some of California’s oldest Syrah and Grenache vines, Old Vine Rosé is fresh, nuanced, and balanced. A vibrant bouquet of ruby grapefruit, orange sorbet, and mint leads to a palate of tangy red currant, mineral-driven texture, and a lively, zesty finish.

Old Vine Red

California, United States

Affectionately known as "OVR," Marietta's Old Vine Red is a proprietary red wine made to replicate the field blends of the old vineyards in Sonoma and Mendocino counties. A groundbreaking combination of grape varieties and multiple vintages first produced in 1982, this wine has blazed the path for red blends for decades. With an historic underground following, it is one of the longest lasting and best known red blends produced today.
