Frog's Leap Winery
Sauvignon Blanc 2025
Rutherford
Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc is a classic, dry expression shaped by organic, dry-farmed vineyards and a long-standing commitment to restraint. Sourced from estate vineyards and a single long-term partner grower in Rutherford, the wine emphasizes freshness, minerality and texture rather than overt fruitiness. Early picking decisions preserve natural acidity and aromatic lift, setting the foundation for balance and longevity. In contrast to many modern Napa Valley examples, Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc is completely dry and food-oriented. It delivers brightness and energy while maintaining enough weight to pair easily at the table. The wine reflects the estate’s broader philosophy: vineyard-driven, thoughtfully made and built for versatility rather than immediate impact alone.
WINE
Sauvignon Blanc plays a central role at Frog's Leap, serving as a unique example of the variety in Napa Valley. Rather than pursuing overt tropical ripeness, the estate focuses on freshness, texture and food-friendliness. This dedicated stylistic vision has resulted in a reference point year after year for consumers seeking a restrained, vineyard-driven expression that aligns closely with Old World sensibilities while remaining distinctly Californian.
VINEYARD
Certified organic and dry-farmed. Soil types are primarily the clay-heavy sloughs of the Maxwell series, as well as the deep river clay-silt loams at Galleron and Longwood.
WINEMAKING
Sauvignon Blanc grapes are picked at night and whole cluster pressed to preserve aromatic purity and varietal expression. Fermentation proceeds in neutral vessels under careful temperature control to ensure complete dryness and prevent malolactic conversion. Post-fermentation, the wine is handled gently to maintain brightness and energy, and seven months aging on lees allows a complex, savory dimension of Sauvignon Blanc to emerge
VINTAGE
2025 brought a long, cool growing season—not quite as cold as 2023, but cool enough to slow ripening, boost freshness (very low harvest pH), and yield a bumper Sauvignon Blanc crop. That coolness also favored a more mineral, less fruit-forward SB, our anchor variety since day one. ’25 also gave us our first Chenin Blanc in years from estate Galleron vineyard.

Concrete Aged Sauvignon Blanc
Rutherford
Sauvignon Blanc has long been central to the Frog’s Leap story and serves as a reference point for restrained Napa Valley whites. Rather than chasing overt tropical ripeness or sweetness, the estate focuses on dryness, mineral structure and aromatic precision. The Concrete Aged Sauvignon Blanc intensifies this focus, employing careful vineyard selection, old vines, fermentation in concrete egg and extended aging sur lie to drive a intense, mineral-driven expression of Sauvignon Blanc fully expressive of its Rutherford origins.
Shale & Stone Chardonnay
Napa Valley
‘Shale and Stone’ on the label is reflective of the deep minerality of the vineyard’s ancient fractured shale soils and the freshness of the varietal. With long sur lie aging in concrete, it is taut but generous, and full yet bright on the palate.
