Flight of the Condor

Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Mendoza

Trade Tools

Flight of the Condor Cabernet Sauvignon is a varietally pure wine with a linear structure and fresh fruit profile, enhanced by light oak contact. Sourced from high elevation vineyards with notable pedigree across Mendoza, including both historic regions like Luján de Cuyo (over 100 years old) and newer areas like Uco Valley, this wine offers great balance and depth. A fantastic value from one of Mendoza’s most promising young brands, showcasing the region’s potential.

VINEYARD

The fruit is sourced from the Remolinos Vineyard in Agrelo and two vineyards in the Uco Valley.

WINEMAKING

The grapes are selected for their balanced fruit profile and receive 4-5 days of cold soak followed by 8-10 days of alcoholic and malo-lactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages 8 months in French oak prior to bottling.

VINTAGE

The 2022 Mendoza vintage faced a cool, dry spring, frosts, and rain, but ultimately produced high-quality wines. Red wines showed good concentration, balanced acidity, and lower alcohol levels, with excellent aging potential. However, white wines were impacted by rain during harvest, resulting in a more dilute vintage. Regional variations influenced quality, with the Uco Valley experiencing less rain and cooler temperatures in areas like Gualtallary, while the East saw more rainfall. Despite setbacks, reds from this vintage are particularly promising.

TASTING NOTE

Bright crushed blackberry and crème de cassis lead the nose, with subtle thyme and well-integrated oak. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with round tannins and a delightfully fruity finish.
