Tenuta Castiglioni

Tuscany, Italy

Tenuta Castiglioni lies southwest of Florence in the gentle hills of the Val di Pesa. The estate was built along the famed Via Castiglioni, a Roman road connecting northern Tuscany and Rome. Considered the “ancestral home” of the Frescobaldis, the property has been in the family since the 11th century, and there are records of wine being grown here as early as 1300–and wine from Tenuta Castiglioni was enjoyed in the 1500s at both the Papal Court the English Court of Henry VIII.

Tenuta Castiglioni, which still serves as a residence for the Frescobaldi family, has remarkable vineyards of both Sangiovese and Bordeaux varieties, producing wines of not only outstanding quality, but outstanding quality for the price.
