Ahead of Thanksgiving, Washington Post wine columnist Dave McIntyre has shared his tips for navigating holiday wine selections and also shared his no-fail top picks to enjoy at the table next Thursday. One of his tips is to start with a lighter white, which makes sense as to why his first recommendation is Chateau Montelena’s hidden treasure – its Riesling. Of the wine, Dave says “Chateau Montelena produces this classically styled, racy version, with citrus and orchard fruit flavors, great acidity and just a hint of sweetness.” Another insider tip, buy in bulk – the winery won’t be releasing a 2018 vintage as they rejected the fruit because of the smoke taint from wildfires that effected the Valley.
