Château de La Chaize
Fleurie Lieu-dit "La Chapelle des Bois" 2024
Château de La Chaize Fleurie Lieu-dit “La Chapelle des Bois” is a single-vineyard cuvée from one hectare of 40-year-old vines in the southwest-facing “La Chapelle des Bois” parcel. The soil consists of coarse sands with granite pebbles. Vinified plot-by-plot, the Gamay Noir is destemmed and macerated for about 2-3 weeks in stainless steel, with pumping over and racking, before oak vat maturation. The wine is a beautiful ruby with purple highlights, offering aromas of blackcurrant, red berries, peppery notes, and a graphite minerality. The palate balances power and acidity, reflecting the terroir’s signature tenderness and roundness.

Reviews

Jeb Dunnuck - October 1, 2026 "The 2024 Fleurie La Chapelle des Bois has an intense garnet color, comes from a hectare of 40-year-old vines, and is a wine of very serious expression. It rests on a deep, complex nose, with carefully composed perfumes that bring notes of grenadine and lingonberry. The palate is serious as well, well-built and deep, already endowed with a balance firmly in place that will carry it serenely through the coming years. This is a dense, complex wine with exactly the depth and the drinkability one expects of Gamay."
