Château de La Chaize

Fleurie "Clos de La Chapelle des Bois"

Beaujolais

Fleurie “Clos de La Chapelle des Bois” is a precision-driven expression of cru Beaujolais, built for perfume, finesse, and structural detail rather than simple fruit. Sourced from a single-vineyard monopole in Fleurie, it captures the appellation’s signature floral lift and silky texture while delivering the depth and concentration that can only be expected from a limited single-site bottling. The wine’s personality is defined by freshness first, with layered red and dark berry tones, subtle spice, and a refined mineral line that keeps the palate energized and long.

Winemaking

Each plot is vinified separately. Fermentation in stainless steel, accompanied by semi-carbonic maceration. 10% whole cluster fermentation.

Vintage

A fiercely hot and dry summer in 2022 led to reduced yields, but the concentrated fruit from the arid conditions resulted in fantastically rich and flavorful wines.

James Suckling - April 12, 2024 “An elegant and fragrant Fleurie that has the light-footed character and floral delicacy we associate with this appellation. The wine's structure is very discreet, completely beneath the surface on the front palate, then slowly emerging in the long, precise finish."
