Finca Decero’s Mini Ediciones Petit Verdot is a limited-production wine that showcases the unique character of this lesser-known variety. Sourced from the coarse, low-vigour soils of the Remolinos Vineyard, it offers a rich, full-bodied profile with juicy dried berry flavors, hints of shaved chocolate, and tea. The wine is defined by firm tannins and a flavorful finish. Finca Decero is renowned for its top-quality vineyard in Mendoza, securing its place among Argentina’s most highly regarded producers.
VINEYARD
100% Single Vineyard origin from the high altitude (3500ft) Remolinos Vineyard at the Finca Decero estate. ALTITUDE: 3500ft SOILS: Low vigour soils CLONES: Cabernet Franc 312 & 327. (Origin Bordeaux) YIELD: 2.8 tons per acre CANOPY: Cluster thinning to 1-2 clusters per shoot. HARVEST: Handpicked
WINEMAKING
SELECTION: Cluster selection pre-destemmer; Berry selection post-destemmer. HANDLING: Gravity fed. MACERATION: Pre-fermentation cryo-maceration for 48 hours at -5 / -6º Celsius in 600L French oak barrels. 14 days cold soak. 15-18 days extended maceration. FERMENTATION: Cool alcoholic fermentation at 15-22ºC to preserve aromatics and freshness of flavors. Further maceration during 10-12 days, then racking, followed by malo-lactic fermentation in 600L French oak barrels. MATURATION: 16 months in 600L French oak barrels.
VINTAGE
2020 vintage was third in a trilogy of stellar vintages in Mendoza. Bud break followed the normal pattern despite an early spring frost which did not cause any damage in Remolinos Vineyard. The summer temperatures were slightly warmer than usual and with average rainfall levels which led to excellent health in the vineyard and even phenolic ripeness. In light of the pandemic quarantine protocol in Argentina, we doubled down our attention on taking every step to protect and manage the quality of the vineyard and harvest of this exceptional vintage.
TASTING NOTE
Decero Mini Ediciones Cabernet Franc shows nuances of pepper, graphite and plum notes with fresh aromatics and taut acidity resulting in a well structured, elegant wine with great potential for ageing.

This is a Petit Verdot from the Agrelo sub-region in Luján de Cuyo and is super aromatic on the nose, exhibiting notes of sweet spices and blackberries. There is a rich intensity of dark fruit and toasted oak flavors rolling over a silky texture on the palate."

Finca Decero's Mini Ediciones Cabernet Franc is one of the winery's three "rare varieties & limited edition" wines. The wine shows nuances of bell pepper, graphite and plum notes with fresh aromatics and taunt acidity resulting in a well-structured Cabernet Franc with great potential for aging.
Malbec
A core intensity of red fruit flavors and lifted violet aromas remain the signature of Malbec from the estate’s Remolinos Vineyard. This is exquisitely balanced by freshness of acidity and an elegant integration of French oak which adds complexity to the rich mid palate.
Cabernet Sauvignon
Agrelo is recognized for red varieties and while it has been acknowledged for its high-quality Malbec it has also become known as the source of some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon emanating from Argentina. The wine has a beautiful, full-bodied structure that comes across effortlessly due to the hallmark Decero refinement.
Amano
Decero Amano takes its name from the “Amano” or “by hand” approach. As the pinnacle of the winery's achievements each vintage, Decero Amano is a blend of the most distinctive parcels from the Remolinos Vineyard. The wine is a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Tannat: violet aromas emanate from the Malbec, red fruit flavors and structure of the Cabernet gives excellent length, while the jasmine perfumed Petit Verdot brings firm tannins as does the Tannat, which adds even more textural complexity.
