Raineri

Region

“In 2005, three guys born and raised among the vineyards of the Langhe District in Piedmont (Gianmatteo Jimmy Raineri, Fabrizio Giraudo, and Luciano Racca) started Raineri as a small production of Dolcetto from the famous Dogliani area. Their passion and respect for wine and the winemaking traditions pushed them to have a full line by 2006, including Barbera, Nebbiolo and Barolo all from vineyards in Monforte d’Alba. With the help of their families, and generous advice from wise producers, they were able to fulfill their dream of making classic wines of Piedmont.

Located in Panerole of Novello, the cellar is made up of three essential areas: vinification (all stainless steel vats), aging (French oak Botti Grandi and barrels), and bottle storage with controlled temperature.

They share the philosophy of the Master Vintners of the Langhe District: manual work for absolute care of each grapevine, wine let to age in barrels made with only the best oak, and daily barrel sampling to learn and be a part of the evolution.”

Wines

Langhe Nebbiolo

Honoring the traditions of the area, Raineri's Langhe Nebbiolo is a delightful and thoughtful representation of Nebbiolo from the place that grows it best. An 8-10 day maceration followed by eight months in stainless steel create a profile that allows the intricacies of Nebbiolo to shine while also presenting enjoyably in it's youth.

Barolo

Raineri's Barolo comes from the younger vines of the Perno vineyard in Monforte d'Alba. This allows for cheerful expression of Barolo in the wine's youth, while also feeding into the quality of their "Perno" bottling. 21 day maceration followed by 24 months in large oak casks, a traditional form of vinification leading to a deep and lasting profile in the wine.

Langhe Bianco

A blend of Arneis and Chardonnay from the Langhe hills that expresses in a clean and elegant way. Two days of skin maceration and 4 months on the lees build out the unique character of the wine, which leads with ripe orchard fruit set against a refreshing mineral quality.

Dogliani Dolcetto

The basis of Raineri's founding is their Dolcetto, sourced from a single vineyard and made by traditional means to the area. The vineyard, Zovetto, is a unique site that can only be hand harvested due it's steep Southern exposure. Aged in stainless steel for 8 months, Dolcetto's typically deep fruit quality shines through alongside an upright tannic structure.
