Luxury travel and wine writer Marisa D’Vari covers VINTUS’s New York Fall Portfolio Tasting in “VINTUS: Emotional Wine,” and a bottle from E. Guigal anchors her account of the evening. D’Vari describes tasting through the Rare Room at Tallow Steakhouse, where VINTUS showcased what she calls the jewels of its portfolio, bottles built for milestone occasions and lasting memory. A wine from E. Guigal transported her straight back to the steep hillsides of Côte-Rôtie’s famed “La La” vineyards, a place she’d visited in person, heels and all, not realizing the terrain called for climbing shoes. She writes, “I arrived at a New York steakhouse. With one glass, I returned to a steep hillside in Côte-Rôtie. With the next, I traveled somewhere else. That is a rare experience indeed.”
