Far Mountain Myrna Chardonnay Named An Outstanding Summer Wine

Baroness Sheri de Borchgrave rounds up 20 wines from small, family-owned producers in Cottages & Gardens’ “20 Outstanding Summer Wines,” highlighting Far Mountain’s 2022 Myrna Chardonnay as one of the standouts.

De Borchgrave describes the wine, from Sonoma’s Moon Mountain District, as highly expressive, with white floral aromas and hints of mint, chalk, and flint on the finish. The Chardonnay grapes are dry-farmed in the rugged terrain of the Mayacamas Mountains, and she writes that “Myrna’s” fruit shows “purity, precision and intense minerality which reflects its extraordinary terroir.” She also notes winemaker Rodrigo Soto, one of the leading biodynamic practitioners in the industry, who worked in Chile before founding Far Mountain with his wife, Mai Errazuriz.
