Meet Côteaux Champenois, the Other Wine From Champagne That’s Giving Bubbly a Run for the Money

Leading luxury publication Robb Report published a feature story dedicated to the rare Coteaux Champenois still wines and top bottles to seek out, including Champagne Bollinger La Côte aux Enfants 2015. While some producers are beginning to launch still red wines in the region, Robb Report speaks to Bollinger’s long history producing its still Pinot Noir from estate fruit.

Wine contributor Ted Loos reinforces the merits of this hard-to-find, extremely special wine from Bollinger. “The nose of this wine – imagine cherries growing in a shady wood – is worth the price of the bottle, incredibly evocative of good Pinot Noir and showing the quality of its Grand Cru site in the Ay region of Champagne. It’s fresh, fruity and classy. Given a couple of hours to evolve in a decanter, it would be a great match with lamb (normally the specialty of Bordeaux, but give it a try).”
