A Hot and Impressive Vintage

Wine Spectator’s Senior Editor James Molesworth highlighted some of the most exciting new Châteauneuf-du-Pape releases, including Château de Nalys Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grand Vin Blanc 2019 (93pts) and Saintes Pierres de Nalys Rouge 2018 (93pts).

Molesworth offered readers context on Château de Nalys, explaining that “acclaimed Rhône producer Guigal purchased the winery in 2017, and 2018 was the first vintage during which the Guigals had full control over the vineyards and winemaking from start to finish.

The Grand Vin Blanc is described as “enticing, with melon and lemon curd flavors cruising through. Offers nice definition, backed by honeysuckle and acacia notes on the stylist finish.” Continuing, the Saintes Pierres de Nalys Rouge is “a silky yet rich and persistent offering, with leading red tea notes, mulled cherry and raspberry fruit at the core and a long, subtle mineral edge curling around the perfumed finish.”
