In a comprehensive 2022 Vintage Port report by James Molesworth, Wine Spectator highlights Quinta do Noval’s outstanding performance among the releases, naming their Vintage Port Nacional 2022 (97 points) as one of six to earn a classic rating of 95+ points. Their sister bottling, the Quinta do Noval Vintage Port 2022, also made the cut at 96 points.
Molesworth celebrates how producers across the region persevered in a year shaped by extreme heat, drought, and remarkably low yields. The resulting wines were ultimately intense, concentrated and surprisingly fresh Vintage Ports, with Quinta do Noval emerging as a benchmark performer. Despite one of the hottest growing seasons on record, timely rains and careful management preserved acidity and balance giving us these excellent declared Vintage Ports despite the challenges of the vintage.
