We’re thrilled to share Miriam Lee Masciarelli, of Masciarelli in Abruzzo, is spotlighted in this April 2026 Wine Spectator cover story, “Italy’s Next Generation,” which features a new generation of leaders shaping the future of some of Italy’s most respected estates.
For Masciarelli, Miriam’s leadership reflects a deep personal connection to the estate founded by her father, Gianni Masciarelli, whose pioneering vision helped elevate Abruzzo wines on the global stage. After stepping into a public role for the winery at just 18 following her father’s passing, she has taken on responsibilities spanning communications, trade relations, and strategic direction, all while remaining closely connected to the vineyard and cellar. Today, she continues to champion the region’s potential, building on flagship labels such as Villa Gemma and the estate’s broader portfolio while emphasizing both environmental sustainability and long-term economic stability for the winery.
