Food & Wine Names A d’Aussières and E. Guigal Tavel Among the Best French Rosés to Buy Now

Food & Wine rounds up the French rosés worth buying right now in “The French Rosés We’re Buying Right Now, From Provence and Far Beyond,” and writer Ray Isle singles out bottles from both the Languedoc and the Rhône Valley, including 2025 A d’Aussières Rosé and 2023 E. Guigal Tavel.

The A d’Aussières, a Grenache and Syrah blend from the Rothschild family’s Languedoc holdings, gets called out for its vibrant, blood orange-inflected flavor, a style Isle notes carries the same quality the family built its name on at Château Lafite Rothschild, here at a far more accessible price.

For the E. Guigal Tavel, Isle explains that the house holds its rosés back a year or two after vintage, and that “that extra time in bottle only adds to their evocative complexity.” The transparent, strawberry-pink 2023 shows notes of spiced citrus peel and red berries, a medium-bodied style built for that extra aging.
