Experience the Magic of 2021 Brunello

Tenuta CastelGiocondo and Casisano both shine in Wine Spectator‘s sweeping Brunello di Montalcino report from the June 2026 issue. The coverage includes a tasting of nearly 150 wines from a vintage senior editor Bruce Sanderson rates 99 points overall and declares a rival to the legendary 2016. The 2021 season’s natural yield reductions, hot dry summer, and cool September nights produced wines of striking balance, energy, and aging potential.

CastelGiocondo earned 94 points for its 2021 Brunello (“balanced and vibrant, with resonant tannins”) and 95 for its Ripe Al Convento Riserva 2020, praised as “dense and muscular with a vibrant feel.” Casisano matched the achievement with dual 94-point scores: its 2021 Brunello described as “round and fleshy with fine balance and energy,” and its Colombaiolo Riserva 2020 called “resonant” with “a juicy texture, solid structure, and a long, focused finish.”
