In this October feature from The World of Fine Wine, Master of Wine Anne Kreibiehl gives an in depth look at and review of Bollinger’s PN TX20, and the Maison’s deliberate pivot towards terroir-specific expressions of Pinot Noir.
The wine, 100% Pinot Noir and centered on the Premier Cru village of Tauxières, is a hallmark of Bollinger’s PN series, blending the finesse of Tauxières with reserve contributions from Aÿ and Avenay for depth and complexity.
With a base vintage of 2020 and a high proportion of reserves, this release reaffirms Bollinger’s mastery of Pinot-driven Champagne. Kreibiehl describes it as “ripe and slightly smoky” with “vivid, juicy fruitiness… delivered against a gentle backdrop of salty shortcrust pastry.” Rating it 93 points, she notes it is “a most gastronomic wine” with great aging potential to appeal to enthusiasts and collectors alike.
