In Wine Spectator’s recent feature “The Best Rosés Under $30, According to Sommeliers,” Anthony Taylor, Wine Director for Best of Award of Excellence winner Cru Uncorked in Moreland Hills, Ohio, highlights E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rosé as his go-to budget-friendly pick. Produced from 20-year-old vines specifically grown for rosé, the wine is praised for being “bursting with red fruit and balance” and widely available for $20 or less.
Taylor notes “There’s probably never been a better time to be a rosé fan than right now. Gone are the days when only we somms drank it, because first, we really loved it, and second, we couldn’t sell it because all pink wine was associated with extra-sweet white Zinfandel.” He highlights Guigal’s long history with the style—making rosé since the 1940s—and calls it his current “at home” favorite, applauding its accessibility and quality.
