A recent edition of Lonely Planet chronicles the author’s recent travels to Aÿ in Champagne. Ay is the birthplace of Champagne Bollinger and home to Champagne Ayala. One can book a guided tour to explore history and architecture, take a bike tour of vineyards, go tasting at Champagne houses, noteably Champagne Ayala and Champagne Bollinger. The author advises that Ay is very easily accessed by train or car from Paris, and is close to neighboring villages of Reims and Épernay.
