Château Tour Bayard 2018 (92-94 WA) (92-94)

“Tour Bayard is a small, family-owned winery, and the third generation is now looking after the property—Richard, Nelly and Julien, who is the winemaker. Grapes are grown on limestone soils with southeast exposure, and no weedkillers have ever been used here. The 2018 Tour Bayard is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, it bursts from the glass with bold, expressive chocolate-covered cherries, blackberry pie and potpourri scents plus hints of violets and spice cake. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and seductive, it delivers loads of spice-sparked layers and a long, fragrant finish.”
